Large LEGO set with good playability
This is a LEGO police training set - the idea is that police candidates do an obstacle course and are then presented with their hats at the end!It has around 900 pieces, so is a fairly long and involved build, particularly for the age group suggested, of 6 and over - I suspect an adult would need to help younger children.Six minifigs are included, and in addition to the training setup, you get a horse, a small buggy, and an agility setup for the horse. The assault course is quite nicely designed, with a working winch to pull minifigs up to the top, a death slide, and a sort of conveyor belt arrangement with a swinging obstacle to knock the minifig down - this is a bit disappointing, as you need to swing the obstacle by hand; it could have been linked to the conveyor belt mechanism, which would have made it a lot more fun!But otherwise, this is a decent, imaginatively-designed set, with a lot of scope for playability once assembled.

Excellent Lego set
LEGO 60372 City Police Training AcademyThis is an enormous set of Lego, it is supplied in a large box which really is quite heavy. This is 'LEGO 60372 City Police Training Academy' which looks to be quite an exciting set to build. The age range on the box is for 6 years plus, probably due to the huge amount of bricks and slightly higher difficulty level. The set comprises of an Obstacle Course, Horse Figure, Quad Bike and 6 Police Officer Mini figures. The Training Academy is used to train your city police before letting them loose to fight crime in your Lego city. The set is supplied in several different projects that have to be built, each projects parts are stored in individual bags so they don't get muddled up. Inside the box you will find full instructions on how to assemble each one. There are 5 box sets to buy in this range all are of the same theme, you can buy more of them which will add to the fun or just enjoy this stand-alone box set. All bricks are compatible with other Lego sets so there really is no limit to what you can build if you already have other Lego sets. My son has been collecting Lego for years so he has a huge box of bricks and figures which enables him to build his own creations. If care is taken opening the box it is strong enough to keep the parts safe for many years to come. As far as value for money is concerned, yes this is a lot of money with it's current price of £79.99. I would say it's definitely worth it as this is a fantastic Lego set which I'm sure many would love to have. My son has already laid claim to this as soon as he spotted it.Personally I feel this is one of the better Lego sets that are available - Recommended!CONTENTS:823 x PiecesThank you for reading my review, I hope you have found it helpful.

Great kit with a lot of tactile parts for play, not too challenging for younger audiences
I got this to build with my two nephews when I look after them during the week. They both love Lego already, the eldest is 11 and does all the building, whilst the youngest is 7 and doesn't really care about building but loves playing with it once it's all done. I Love the Lego City stuff as it reminds me of the Lego I had when I was a kid before all the fancy licensed stuff came along, the eldest really prefers the licensed stuff, however and the youngest doesn't really care, he just likes Lego. The guide age for this kit is 6+ and I think that's a fair assessment. it's an excellent kit for a young kid who enjoys building but hasn't tackled too many larger kits yet, as although this is quite big in total, it's really 4-5 smaller segments that join into one at the end, so logically it breaks down into small, manageable chunks really easily. My eldest nephew had no trouble at all with this, but he makes all the big Harry Potter stuff with his mum at home, so this was pretty easy for him.In total it took us 2-3 hours to buildit together over two sessions, so quite a short build really.Once it's done though, my younger nephew had a great time playing with it which I was really pleased about. It's a really tactile kit and has a lot of small details and cool little moving parts. I loved stuff like the little equipment room with the riot gear helmets hanging up, or the break room with the coffee machine. The functioning zipwire is especially cool. Watching my nephew play with it you could see how it encouraged his imagination and got him to just touch and mess with all the little moving things which I thought was definitely it's strong point. Most of the blocks are standard lego blocks, you get a pack of stickers and one or two actual, printed blocks that say Police on them as well as the computer screen and keyboard, but otherwise it's all standard stuff. You get six mini figures and they all have great expressions which can be changed by turning the heads around.Overall I really liked this set. I love building Lego with my nephews, it's pretty much our number one bonding thing so I was bound to like this anyway, but I did think this was a particularly nice set and I was really pleased with how much fun the youngest had playing with it. I feel like Lego City sets definitely steer towards the younger kids, but I can definitely recommend this for anyone who has a kid, maybe younger than 10 or so who enjoys building Lego. As I mentioned earlier, it's especially good I think as an introduction to building something a little bigger, without being overwhelming.
