Other heaters give a better direct heat if that's what you want
Other heaters give a better direct heat if that's what you want, but this one spreads the heat better which makes it ideal for taking the chill off a room. One word of advice though; The plug isn't really up to having 3 kilowatts running through it for any length of time and my one has warped slightly. I'd advise letting the plug cool down before removing it from the socket or, better still, replace it with an MK plug.

Not what i expected
I am not very impressed with this product at allI have a Glen heater which is also rated 3000and it is far the better heater and cost half themoney I have also a very cheap heater whichis only rated at 2000 and even this heater seemsto produce more heat For the money I paid Iwould have expected something far better in theway of output

Suprisingly good
This puts out a suprising amount of heat, we use it in our martial arts dojo which is 1800sq mtrs. We use two and within 30 mins the room is at a comfortable temp. They are so good we now use them in our reception and other common areas too. Plus our club colours are black and yellow so often people think we've had them specially made

What do I Think?
This is proving to be an excellent heater for a single garage/workshop size area, if you have a large double garage sized workshop I would guess that two would be needed or desirable as it would take a lot longer to heat up. Over this severe winter with sub zero temperatures I have been able to work in comfort on my motorcycles within around 15 mins or so of turning it on.It is a tad on the expensive side for what it is though as you could but 2-3 times the price of the normal/conventional plastic fan heaters. It heats the work area very quickly though and feels a lot more robust than a conventional similar sized fan heaters like you would use in the office/home.In a workshop, I suppose the Dewalt/JCB looks are very much in character but not really important to me personally.Long term reliability and longevity is yet to be established.Always a testimonal is: Would I buy another one and the answer is yes I would and I would pay the extra over a conventional fan heater.Update 11-2-15, last year the thermostat failed. It switches off after about only 5-10 secs of operation. Now down rated my review.

At last a heater with a three year guarantee
This product seems to be a heater of substance, I cannot really give an opinion on its efficiency until after I have received my next electricity bill.
