Excellent product just what I wanted and does the job brilliantly would buy again.

These testing solutions are OK, they will do the job but the only thing is that these are intended to be used directly on the metal. This can leave unsightly marks and damage the piece that you are testing. You can use these on a stone but the colour changes are very hard to see on a black stone. The instruction booklet is good and detailed. The one obvious thing I feel I need to mention is that great care needs to be taken with these solutions, as all metal testing kits, they are acids...do not get onto your skin or in your eyes. I did burn my hand by getting a little splash on it and it left a horrible brown mark on my skin. Be very careful with them.

Perfect kit to test for gold. I often buy scrap gold off EBay and a magnet test can only go so far. The acids do exactly as they should and it comes with a handy guide on how to use it and what the reaction can tell me. I would also recommend buying a precious metal testing stone just in case the top layer is gold plated.

If like me you like to rummage car boot sales and the likes then this is just what you need to test if it is gold and what carat. Nice piece of kit and simple to use.
