The Casey Grimes Series: The Mostly Invisible Boy, Trickery School, Crooked Castle & The Ghost of CreepCat

I bought this to read with my son. It is thick! It has three books in one and is about 2.5/3 inches thick. Not something I want to take with us when we travel. The story -- so far we are half way through the first book and it is pretty good. The story started off a little slow, but it is picking up now and my son seems to be enjoying it. I will update more when we start the next book.

13yo daughter loved the series, but was disappointed when she started on the novella (item #4 that is supposed to be include per Amazon description), and it turned out to be only a teaser excerpt.

I wanted to love the book, I really did. I found the way it is written very very disjointed, slow moving and hard to follow. I usually don’t like stopping a series before it’s finished but every so often there’s not enough interest and this is one of those times. So I finished the kindle version through to the end but won’t read any more of them. I found the way he wrote it too annoying and the last 2 made 0 sense.

Even though I am 73 years old, i enjoyed this book. O will be looking forward to more in this seriy.

I did not expect this to be one giant book!! It is very daunting for a child that doesn’t like to read much. This series is advertised as being loved by children that don’t like to read, a child who doesn’t like to read will not want to tackle this monster of a book.

I bought this book as a gift for my daughter, but having the whole series in a single binding makes it uncomfortable to hold in her hands. The book is nearly 2" thick. I am going to get the books individually. She is more likely to read them and enjoy them this way.
