I got this for my budgies, and while they haven't seemed to interested yet, it is a nice addition to their cage and the kids and I are hoping to watch them move in soon 😊 The wood is smooth and the latch closes nicely. The top does fit fairly snug when closed too vs having a big gap like some. The top is also big enough for easy internal cleanings. I do love that the entry for the birds has a metal frame to protect it from my dedicated chewers, but they have began working on the small perch it offers 😆 I'm confident a small stick will suffice, should they ever chew that off, so I'm not worried about it. It also doubles as a good little shelf for holding their misting bottle 😊 The box is very sturdy, and the hardware fastens perfectly to the sides. I did decide to mount it externally to their cage, with the entry fitting the side door of it quite well with very minor adjusting to the metal frame surround the box's entry. I especially appreciated the pre-drilled holes on the front to allow for this.

We got this for other critters, and it is working out just fine. It is built well enough to withstand their minimal abuse. Easy to clean and compact enough to move around the enclosure.

My birds chewed this apart in less than a month there was quite literally almost nothing left the little plexiglass window fell out after they chewed all around its edges the little metal ring that should’ve been there entryway was out and on the bottom of the cage within the first week. It Needs to be made of something that the birds will not destroy. And yes I have plenty of things in their cage for them to chew aside from the nesting box but they chose to chew that up

Still waiting to see if my buggies use the nesting box but it was easy to install. Love the clear backing on it so I can see inside.

I love this for my budgies, my hedwig started to lay an egg then another and I was quick to order this but unfortunately one fell and cracked…but she’s now laying more eggs inside and is warm and comfy! Excellent for nesting! I Recommend!
