If you can follow directions, they will come...
I ordered my trees and were unpleasantly surprised at what I received. My delivery were nothing more than sections of a bonsai tree wrapped in a wet napkin in a plastic bag. Feeling a bit slighted in my purchase, I opened the bag and followed the directions of placing them in water as soon as I unpacked them. After a few days, I saw a positive change in the 9 stalks I received. Each of them grew roots that I was able to plant into their own pots. All 9 are taking root and sprouting leaves/buds as indicated in the directions. I have one that is questionable but still soaks up the water given it so I keep watering it. I have noticed that they need sunlight, though not direct sunlight. They are all prospering.I know nothing of bonsai trees and just followed the directions. I have 8 of 9 that are doing well though a couple are slow in developing. Staying the course, I have been able to make my purchase fruitful and will soon be able to gift the fruits of my labors to others. Patience and following directions is pretty easy though not having gone through this before was not totally intuitively obvious.I would recommend CZ Grain to any of my friends and family. I'm excited to see the growth of my new plants. Currently, each plant is growing roots and growing buds so I can say that my purchase has been better than expected.CZ Grain could give better directions but the purchaser should not over-think the process. Follow the included directions and you will have good plants ready to replant and grow! Best of luck!

This is the worst product
I did exactly as the instructions said and this is just some tree bark I receive nothing ever grew and I have it planted for over two months. I should give no stars because this was a waste of money and time and effort. Never again and please don’t buy.

That the come as starters
I'm not sure if it said so in the description, if it does I apologize but they came as babies and they are starting to sprout very lovely.I'm just waiting to see how well they carry on as they grow.I purchased several bonsai and they weren't labeled that's the only thing I think you guys should label them especially for a first-time bonsai person like meLabel the name of plant it's description of how to take care of it and I think that's it but something really simple for your clientele that's purchasing the plant. But so far they look really nice, really healthy, really sturdy would I buy; again yes!

expectations
very surprised when opening the package as the 3 roots were very large (unexpected from order) but lool vvery promising.proposal to accelerated root growth by water immersion sounds good and have started down this routeNext stage will be to move to soil planting and I am a little confused regarding the pot size to purchase - 3 pots needed for 3 roots - please helpAfter soil planting I hope to raise the to 5 star

Bonsai cuts
I received 1 thick branch and 2 thin ones. The thin ones rooted okay. One is in dirt and seems to be doing fine. The other much slower and still in water going on 3 weeks now. The thick one is still in water and struggling to try and root. Even tried root paste. I also am sure to keep the water clean/non stinky. Not holding my breath on that one which is the one I was buying.

These are high quality cuttings from a very helpful dealer...but
I've purchased cuttings from CZ Grain before. Always have had some success. He gives you good instructions. Do not use Miracle Grow soil. Use good water. If your water is highly chlorinated, either use distilled water, or leave the water to sit for at least a day for the chlorine to boil off.As you can see from the first three photos, this is what they'll send you. A good healthy cutting (mine is almost an inch in diameter), and several smaller cuttings, giving you a choice of how big you want to start. Anything that is below the water line may grow roots (I see four tiny roots that were there when I unwrapped it from the damp toweling). Don't let it dry out. There is one problem with all this. The large cutting in the center of the my planter photo can never produce the kind of miniature tree shown in the offering, nor can the smaller cuttings. From my experience that kind of bonzai tree could only be grown from a seed. I've never been able to do that. Yes, five of the six cuttings sent are growing well (one didn't make it, which is good odds), but even the large cutting in the center of my photo, which has been growing in that planter since early June, grows only branches like the tiny cuttings around it. I've added a photo of that planter taken on Oct. 14, 2023 in my greenhouse window. They are fed time-release bonsai food, and get filtered sunlight.I will take care of them every day. That's my job in retirement.

This is a rip off
First of all, the sticks they send will never have the potential to look like the bonsai in the picture. They send bare straight sticks, which sprout and root, but then die of some kind of fungus shortly after. Having read about this from other buyers, I treated mine with a fungicide, but I no avail. Don’t waste your money
