Q: I am confused by the size chart. What would I need for a size 6/8?

Ive looked up what A small is a 4-6 and a medium is a 8-10 so I'd stick with a small. But also depends on do you prefer tighter or looser. As a small would be tighter..but a medium could be too baggy. So I'd go for a small. As too baggy behind the knees don't look the part. . Also try Waist: Bend to the side to find your natural waist. Measure keeping the tape slightly loose. Hope it helps. 😊
