Effective at keeping out drafts and odors
I bought these (both bottom strip #43300 and sides #43303) to use on the exterior of my apartment door to try and keep out a neighbor’s cigar smoke that was coming in from the hall. They are not super easy to install, but if you’re a regular do-it-yourselfer you should be fine. I cut the aluminum with a small miter hand saw intended for model-building. You could probably use tin snips as well, but it would not create as clean an edge. Once up, they definitely seal out drafts and, and as a result, make the door more difficult to close. I don’t think there is any avoiding this. The adhesive is very strong and they have been up for a couple of months now with no sign of coming off.One thing to note is that these things are prone to bending in transit and Amazon doesn’t pack them very well. It took me two tries to get a set that did not arrive bent.

For the tool-less--a possible solution...
The door seal works really well--the tricky part was installing it. Like some of the other reviewers, I don't have a hacksaw. Didn't know I needed one until the doorseal arrived and I realized that my craft scissors were NEVER going to do the trick. But then I figured out a way to cut it without using any tools at all, and it worked! Here's what I didCutting seal to size without a hacksaw:1. Mark on the door seal where you need to cut (as you would anyway)2. Slide the doorseal under your door--you have a gap there, don't you?--and line up your markings on the door seal with the bottom of the door.3. Use the 90 degree angle at the bottom of your door to bend the doorseal exactly where you need it to be cut. I basically just took the excess length of the door seal and pulled it upwards off the floor until it was flush with the side of the door. Then I bent the door seal the other way--that is, I took the seal out, flipped it over, slid it under the door, and pulled the excess end upwards. With this bit of targeted bending, my seal broke cleanly in two, right where I needed it cut!Worked like a charm for me!

Makes installation a breeze
Very easy to install and fits my 36" door perfectly. The door I installed it on is 36" wide and the space between the bottom of the door and the floor is 3/4". It only took a few minutes. The plastic flap is actually 3 pieces each staggering from long to shorter which provides an excellent seal. There is no air escaping when the AC is on from the bottom of the door. I have other door seals that I installed on other doors that took a few hours to get them to fit. They had to be screwed into the door. Sticky tape that this door seal has make the installing quick and simple. I highly recommend this product and if I needed to seal any of my other doors, this is the product of choice. This product makes for an "Easy day." M-D Building Products 43301 36-Inch Cinch Door Seal Bottom, White, 1-Piece

Best for perfectly level floors
Does work well as long as you make sure the rubber piece is securely fitted into the metal piece before installing it on your door. We have had some difficulty with this on our kitchen door because the entry is not perfectly level there (which I didn't notice until I installed this haha) and this leads to some drag on the part that is closest to the floor resulting in the rubber part pulling away from the metal part. I have fixed it numerous times and it stays for a while before coming undone again. I'm sure one day it will break completely but for right now it's fine. It does a good job of insulating and I can tell a significant difference in cold air not being able to get in.

Works great. Beware you need heavy duty clippers to trim down.
I live in an apt where the main door has a good 2 inch gap at the bottom, which is just the worst... not only does sound travel in and out easily, but it lets a TON of heat out. I put on on the inside of the door which helped muffle sound and keep heat in, but I think 2 (one on the inner and outer side of door) would be more effective. It was fairly easy to install, once I located heavy duty clippers.. which was not so convenient for someone who lives in an apartment. Even my most heavy duty scissors could not cut thru the metal portion of this. All in all, a good product and sleek design that is not bulky or ugly.

Very Pleased
More heavy duty than the price would imply, looks good, adhesive works well. Important tip: Be sure and check the clearance under the door through the whole swing. I had to do a lot of trimming after installing and the apparently flat floor actually rose considerably. A slanted door frame will cause this problem as well. There was noticeable noise reduction before I had to trim for more clearance. There is still some effect, but it is obviously reduced. (Engineering note: A 1 square inch hole transmits as much sound as 144 square feet of sheet rock wall). As another reviewer noted, putting one on each side of the door is the way to go. If you seek to reduce noise transmission, one of these on each side is really the most attractive and cost efficient solution out there.

Easy To Install/Effective
The bottom seals on my doors were split from age and paint was peeling off several. I bought these M-D seals to cover the old and provide some added weather seal. These were very easy to install as they use a self adhesive strip - no fasteners. Following the instructions, I measured the width of each door at the sill, cut the metal flange of the new seal with a hacksaw, then the rubber seal itself with a razor knife. Then I just placed them at the desired height to overlap the the threshold and press along the length to set the adhesive. I bought white to match my white doors and they look decent.....certainly better than what they covered up. Took care of 4 doors in a half hour for under $50.

helps a bit.
I bought this item to install st the bottom of our bathroom door as there was a bit of a gap. I had hoped it would deaden the sound. It did but just a bit. The adhesion isn’t strong enough given how many times family members need to use the bathroom so the opening and closing of the door takes its toll on the item so we screwed it to the door. No screws provided

Damaged product.
I received bent product which is unfortunately useless since the sticking part is metal and needs to be straight in order to apply on straight door surface.

Missed 10cm 3M tape
2 stars because probably during manufacturing, their 3M tape finished and they just packed it unfinished missing about 10cm of 3M tape... :(
