I have been looking for some cast iron Japanese tea cups to go with my tea pot. These are in the hobnob design, so it matches perfectly! They are weighty and come individually boxed, so they are well packaged. One thing to note with iron cups, you need to let your tea cool down a bit otherwise, you will burn your hands! These get really hot! Great workmanship and I am so pleased that I now have matching tea cups.

These teacups are definitely of the ceremonial size as they are closer to ramekin size than standard European teacup size. That is not a knock, just an observation as I love the craftsmanship, the look and the feel of these two cups. They are made to engage all the senses including tactile with the highly textured surface makes you want to pick them up and feel the cup on your fingers and your palm. These are very nice cups for a tea drinking experience not so much for getting caffeinated.

I like the cups. But one arrived a little chipped on the edge. It's still usable l, just not very giftable if anyone is buying it as a gift.Also, they do get quite hot. So you have to drink fast or use the holder))
