Dental Intraoral Camera, the good and the bad.
I liked the dental intraoral camera, but unfortunately it failed within minutes of first use. This item is supposed to be used with a plastic sheath, this gave a very blurred picture. By removing the sheath, and I was the only one that would be using the camera (I had various dental problems that my dentist seemed unable to sort out so to me it was worth the expense) I go a remarkable clear photo. Impressive by any standards. Then everything went wrong. The image on screen suddenly had an image similar to net curtains overlaying the photo, and then a few moments later nothing but a blank screen.I am a person who is always at the forefront of technology and with most equipment I will simply unpack, plug and play, only subsequently looking at the user manual if I cannot figure out why something I expect to work fails. In this case, after the failure, I inspected the user manual and found right at the back that the dental Intraoral camera should be cleansed with wipes. Now I wonder, if by putting the device in my mouth without a sheath, did some saliva enter the camera and destroy it?This then begs the question why product an dental Intraoral camera to put in a mouth that is not proofed from saliva penetration? I am not expecting it to be waterproof to 1m of pressure, but surely some degree of waterproofing would be to my mind obvious. If it is critical that only wipes should be used then why is a sample pack not included in the packaging with a clear warning on the camera that it is not proof against liquid penetration?I cannot believe that the quality of the images produced by this camera are sacrificed by having to use the sheath, would it cost a lot more manufacturing to produce a camera more rugged. As I started this review, I very much liked the dental Intraoral camera, but if failed to live up to it's initial promise.

Great value, great quality!
We needed 4 intra oral cameras for our dental surgery and came across this great find. Great value for money, fantastic quality and very easy to install. Would highly recommend. The customer service is also excellent!

Great camera - a useful addition to clinics
This intra-oral camera is very very useful. I am a dentist practicing in the UK and I have always heard about the advantages of clinical photography and its usefulness to clinical dentistry. Following from this interest i decided to get this intra-oral camera and it definitely has not disappointed! The camera comes in a neat and easy to carry cardboard package with clear instructions, an installation CD, a USB cable, a wall holder (with screws), a pack of protection sleeves and the camera unit. The camera is VERY easy to use. To put it into perspective, I have never used a camera like this before and I am semi-literate with computers. However is was able to get it to work the first time I used it. On my practice computer, I plugged in the camera into my USB drive and just opened the camera app (windows 10), as shown in my pictures. The resulting picture seemed blurry at first but when I put the protection sleeve on and tried it intra-orally the results are very commendable. I am not an expert in clinical photography but what I could get (on my first ever try) were pictures clear enough to look for pathology or help treatment plan and explain things to my patients. The camera comes with a pack of protection sleeves which are made for the camera. I tried to use a regular composite light curer protection sleeve at first but that didn't work the same. Also the button on the camera did not work with my setup to take pictures (It did to activate the light) but that I believe is because I didnt install the software included as I am using my practice computer. Nevertheless, with my set-up I was still able to save the photos by asking my nurse to click capture on the camera app.The attached pictures are the ones I took on my first time using the camera. I hope to get better at using it and I am sure my pictures will improve with that. So it is a good product - just weigh up how much you need an intra-oral camera and how much you are willing to spend. If you really need one then this one is working perfectly so far.

Easy to use and good value
At the practice we have intraoral cameras that cost 10 times what we paid for this camera, its defiantly not the same quality in build and images and does not integrate to the main dental software programmes , but for the money it is excellent value. The camera arrived promptly , it was easy to set-up and install and the images are of a good quality. The question I can not answer at this point is how long it will last? only time will tell, but would defiantly buy this product again.

it's easy to use and takes good clear pictures
I have bought this camera few months ago, it's easy to use and takes good clear pictures. If you don't want to buy professional expensive I/o camera this camera it's a best option. It come with very practical disposable protective sheaths, don't ever use it without It, this camera it's not waterproofed and you can't clean the lens with disinfectant wipes it makes it blair. So far I am happy to use it /If they make it waterproof I am happy to pay more for this product .

Brilliant
Fantastic product. 80% as good as a £3000 camera (of which we have 2). Getting buttons to save images with digora needs the purchase of a Bluetooth keyboard and yourself or nurse to hit s for save. The camera button freezes the image perfectly but "s" on any attached keyboard saves it. Needs a bit of colour tweaking initially. At this price so what if it lasts 2 years. This is the second one we own, one for the hygienist and one spare.

One caveat is that the depth of focus is good for 'intra-oral' but not brilliant for greater than
When you see the cost of intra oral cameras and what I paid for a Kodak one 5 years ago which packed up and no spare parts!! then I could buy several dozen of these. One caveat is that the depth of focus is good for 'intra-oral' but not brilliant for greater than 15cm
