Tool Kit For Garmin GPS Sat Nav

Perhaps it's my lack of skill or experience but these tools didn't serve me well. The hooked plastic "spudger" broke within a few attempts to remove the outer bezel and the plectrum-shaped pieces twisted out of shape. None of the Torx drivers engaged with the screen screws. A T5 driver from a set purchased at Maplin was an exact fit.I have ordered a more comprehensive toolkit which has more positive reviews.

Wanted this toolset to change the battery on my Garmin SATNA and had a few issues regarding the lack of strength of the plastic spatula which broke an edge whilst attempting to split the case. The worst part was that the final two screws holding the pcb that required removal in order to get to the battery were just too tight causing damage to the screwdriver head and spinning of the shaft in the handle.I had 3 attempts over a 2 week period reassembling after each attempt and at the end gave up as spatula and screw heads were too badly damaged.I think it would be an ok set and get a 5 star result if the screws hadn.t been so tight.

This tool kit is great value for money if your anticipated use is for DIY purposes. If you were using it semi professionally or more, it would be better to buy higher quality tools. In my case the battery & tools from Amazon were 50% less than the cost of the battery form normal sources.One little tip would be that you should maintain constant firm pressure between the tool and the screws to ensure that there is no possibility of rounding off the sharp profile of the tool. Due to the lower quality of the tools this could happen if careless, so be careful! As I first said, this kit is great value for money for DIY use.

very useful when you repair small electronics devices such as Garmin Sat nav and mobile phone or even a PS3.Giving the price of this item I would and the use I have for them I would certainly recommend it. I would even say that even if you use it once or not very often it still worth buy it.

The green tool for accessing the unit is basically so cheaply made it's useless, it broke 1st time I tried to open the cover, so I used a small flat screw driver instead. the other tools are ok & did the job.

Good toolkit. One thing I did not like was the plastic tool that is used to separate two parts - say the screen and the body. I wish it was a bit sturdier as I used it quite a lot and it started falling apart. At least the very edge of it- the pointy side did not look the same after I finished. Overall, good kit.
