I bought this to help me make dumplings for CNY. Folding them by hand takes forever and this little tool makes it simple. You do have to press pretty firmly to make sure your dough sticks, but it is easy enough that my daughter can help me and that saves lots of time. It also makes them more uniform in size. Sometimes doing them by hand it can be hard to know how much filling to put in, but this makes it easy.

This dumpling press offers good value for its price point, but it falls a bit short in terms of sturdiness. 🥟💰It does the job when it comes to making dumplings, and it's certainly budget-friendly. However, I can't help but notice that it's a little rickety and flimsy in its construction. 🤔💨I wish it were made with more durable materials to withstand the pressure of making dumplings consistently. While it may not be the sturdiest option out there, it's still functional and gets the job done. 🍽️👍If you're on a tight budget and don't mind a bit of wobbliness, this dumpling press is a decent choice. Just be aware that it might not be as sturdy as some other options on the market. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

It’s definitely not stainless steel. It looks and feels like a dollar store item.

I don't know why I didn't play closer attention to the product description and the measurements shown in the photos before ordering this thing. I simply saw Empanada Press and thought, "Oh, I want to try making those at home, so I need to order that!". Well, that was a mistake. This is not an empanada press. It is way too small for that. I would agree that this is a Dumpling Press, but it stops there. While dumplings and empanadas might share a similar shape, raviolis do not. While you could technically make round ravioli with this, it would be very clumsy. If it locked into the open position, then I would give it a maybe. But this all is negated anyway in that the craftmanship of this press is very poor. It all hinges (literally) on two rivets that are too big (lengthwise) and thus the two side somewhat flop around and do not line up very evenly. If I am order a utility item to help me make perfectly little shaped dough enclosed items, then it should make them perfectly each time. As a home cook only, I can make them by hand uneven and sloppily, without wasting time and money on something like this. They will at least still taste good even though they look like an uneven mess.

I’m not one who normally makes dumplings but I feel this is so small. I tried to make copycat burger pods from animal kingdom in this and it was just a mess. The dough took up most of the room and I was lucky to get a teaspoon of filling in which is not enough. Also the hinges on this constantly got stuck. I have it 3 stars giving it the benefit of the doubt that I just don’t know how to use it or I’m not using the right dough with it but honestly the craftsmanship of the product just isn’t the best.
