I have been using Gelish top and base coat for years. There has never been an issue with this product. It goes on smoothly, leaves a great base for gel color polish of your choice and a topcoat is fantastic. Now, keep in mind, a little goes a long way with the top coat. It does take a bit of a learning curve if you have not done gel nails before. The top coat is not like a regular nail polish top coat. Gel polish requires a top coat and it is on the thicker side. Brush as much off of the painting brush as possible so it does not get too thick in any one area. I personally purchase this duo pack yearly. I paint my nails about twice per month and it lasts me all year. This is a bargain compared to getting nails professionally done. And, I get compliments on my nails everywhere I go. So, most people don't even know I am not getting my nails done at a salon. This would make a good gift for people who do their own nails.

This set is great! The foundation and top it off bottles are huge so they should last me forever… one helpful thing I didn’t know is the foundation layer is supposed to be sticky after curing so that the other layers will adhere well (I am a beginner)… this is a great set for beginners and great value for money

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but i had high hopes for this. Bought the duo, bought the little gel curing uv lamp, did all the things. But nope. The layers wouldn't set no matter what i did or how long i waited in between. I tried multiple times over a couple weeks and again, maybe I'm just missing something but i followed clear instructions. For me, it was a total flop and i got rid of all the things. I just paint my nails and do an Essie gel couture top coat now. It lasts 5-6 days ... that's enough for me. It's just nail polish at the end of the day. Definitely not worth, in my opinion, all this trouble. If you like the look of gel nails, my advice is just pay the $35 or whatever and get your nails done professionally.

This is a really good base & top coat. It lasts on your nails for at least a week, sometimes 2 if you take care of your nails. The only downside if you may not make it through the whole bottle before it starts to not work as well. Eventually the polish will start lifting quicker & more often. Just need to purchase a new one at that time.
