I’m always trying to find a way to calm myself down sometimes I have fight or flight. I still have some more research to do, but I bought this to try it for adrenal fatigue.

This is a review of “ Tulsi Holy Basil Capsules (Holixer Formula) - World's Only Clinically Studied Holy Basil Leaf Extract (Clinically Shown Results After 60 Days of Use) for Mood, Sleep, and Relaxation by Double Wood”First the fine print: I am not a doctor and my comments below should take that into account .Holy Basil (called Tulsi in India) is essentially a smaller relative of the Basil plant and this version is grown mainly in india. The sceintific name of the plant is Ocimum sanctum. These leaves tend to be much smaller and cannot be cooked because it becomes bitter upon cooking. The medicinal properties of this plant are well-known and therefore used in the Indian system of medicine called Ayurveda . So much so that the plant is literally worshipped (as in temples) for its medicinal qualities. The medicinal properties are varied and this leaf when consumed in full has several claimed benefits including Antimicrobial (including antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, anti-cataract, and as anti-inflammatory medicine . One of those benefits is as a calming agent . Now, these benefits are all attributed to the fresh leaves and this makes Tulsi a difficult plant to convert to a medicine that can be stored .This particular formulation aims to tap into the benefits of Tulsi by using a dry powder version. Because this is US made and has the right certifications to back it, we have a higher confidence in the potency of the dose.My own experience :As a rational person, I first wanted to ascertain that this is Tulsi indeed (whose taste I know from my own personal experience). By tasting the contents of the capsule (it is bitter so be careful), I could taste the tulsi basil flavor, so that passed my own taste test. I took the pills at the rate of once a day (250 mg dosage). A couple of positive effects were noted after about 5 days: lowering of blood pressure and an improved sense of well being. So based on this experience , I can endorse this formulation as effective. Tried this product because of the price but it definitely does not work as well as other brands I have used. I can't feel a difference at all. Don't waste your money buy from someone else, it's cheap for a reason.
