Easy to use
I am not exactly a novice when it comes to sharpening wood chisels, but this item is really easy to set up and use. Great accuracy on the angle set-up. Great value for the money spent, too. Works very well for my shop.

Good first sharpener
the tool came well packaged with no damage. assembly was simple and straightforward. the instructions were very limited, and not very helpful. youtube videos (about other brands) got me started. it was obvious right off that the surface of the stone was not parallel with the bar and that accessories are required to square the stone and to hold knives for sharpening. with some practice I was able to get my knives pretty sharp. idon't see any accessories made by Bucktool, so I will look at Wen, Grizzly, and Tormek. if Bucktool makes accessories it would be nice if they had an essential tolls kit.

Great machine
It took minutes to set up, its perfect. If you have show chisel(s) and complain about this grinder not being up to standards you should not be in woodwork. I take my $500 chisels and beat them to make wood chips fly and this grinder put a sharp as heck edge back in minutes. It's quiet, it's efficient and effective. Buy one!!!!

The guide is junk
The guide is crap. If you want to sharpen a knife or cut new knives DONT use this machine. I still do better by hand

Worth the money
I bought this Bucktool 8", the same time I bought a Tormek T4. I can't see/find much difference between the two. The Bucktool has a larger base, and reversible motor, so you don't have to turn the unit around, to use the strop wheel. And the Bucktool has a full size 8" strop wheel, as opposed to the Tormek having only a 6" wheel. It is very easy to mess up a blade with either of these machines. Practice makes perfect. I'm now also trying out a Ken Onion Work Sharp system.

Over advertised
Bought this as a refurbished unit thinking I was getting for a good price. Could have bought brand new for a couple more dollars. Package was missing cleaning stone. Instructions are very vague and it only comes with one attachment. Company does not make a tools attachment package you can buy, but you can go to ZEN and buy a package that will fit this unit. Had to do all over again I would buy a ZEN.
