Q: Do you use gel with this machine and if so what is the gel's purpose?

I purchased but have not yet used. I bought gel also for when I will use, but currently I primarily use a TENS equipment (OMRON) to relieve osteoarthritis in the hip. I may not be able to use TENS equipment indefinitely if I have a heart pacemaker, so I bought ultrasound and an infra red system for future use. My Google search brings up: "Ultrasound gel is used as a coupling medium in all ultrasound procedures to replace air between the transducer and the patient's skin, as ultrasound waves have trouble in traveling through air"
