THIS... This is the Access Door you've been looking for!
Purchased two similar doors from the Improvement chains and each had their issues. Another here on Amazon and it was... Well not worth the time it took to order it. This has fantastic tolerances, HEAVY, a removable door, and a locking mechanism. Seems like a short list yet very hard to actually do right. Going to purchase several others now that I know its this well done.

Strong panel but no install template
The panel is heavy and strong. I was able to install it and it's working well. However, the company should provide a template that can be use on the wall to create the opening. It was a challenge to measure it properly. Took longer than should. With a template I would be easier.

Good panel but mine had mounting tabs rotated 90 degrees from the picture
The photos for this panel show mounting tabs on the sides of the frame where the hinge and key latch are located. The panel I received had the tabs attached to the top and bottom. This mounting orientation would not work in my application. Rotating the door 90 degrees in the frame seemed like an option since there were pre-cut holes for the hinge but there was no place for the lock to engage except in the as-built location. I drilled out the metal that held the mounting tabs and used screws to re-attached the tabs in the places I expected them to be. It worked great after that.

The size matches the description. It opens easily and works just as it should. It looks expensive and exactly like the pictures.

Product is nice but was shipped without the keys…

Quality metal panel with a deep lip
I used this panel to patch a hole in my drywall that had been made for plumbing access. It works well for that, but the lip of the panel is deeper than the drywall is thick, so I had to cut into the studs to make it fit properly.
