WHAT FOOT DO YOU HAVE? The First thing you need to do is have a look at the photo of the Foot Shanks numbered 1 to 4, if your machine has any of these Brackets then this foot will fit your sewing machine. When ordering a new foot for your Sewing Machine the first thing you need to establish is what type of foot do you need? There are basically four types, Slant Shank (mainly old Singer Sewing Machines), High Shank, Low Shank and Snap On/Clip On. A low shank machine measures approximately 3/4" (18mm) from the screw (small red dot on the above diagram) to the bottom of the foot. TIPS 1. The other measurement you can use is the width of the foot shank where the foot Snaps-On. 2. Pfaff feet are mostly 8mm 3. Austin, Brother, Singer, Janome, Toyota, Baby lock, Silver, Necchi, ER Classic and many more are mostly 6mm 4. Husqvarna are 5.5mm
