This thing is a great addition to your Apple Mac setup. It essentially lets you use your iPhone as a webcam. Even if you're running the latest Mac with the new 1024 inbuilt camera, this will dramatically improve how you come across. You'll appear much clearer, and you can use the phone's portrait mode to subtly blur out your background, studio lighting to darken the background further and highlight your face, and, if you move about the room, the camera will follow you if you enable centre stage. It snaps to the back of your phone using MagSafe (so make sure you have a compatible phone and you'll also need MacOS Ventura on your Mac) and feels very secure once attached. I use it with Apple's official MagSafe leather case and have no problems with adhesion. It then just sits on top of your laptop screen. It doesn't feel ultra-secure up there if I'm honest (at the end of the day you've got the weight of your iPhone sat on top of a hinged screen), but it's not fallen off yet. It's extremely well made and study, whilst light and small enough to fit into your briefcase or rucksack without adding noticeable weight or bulk, so great for travelling or hot-desking, too. It's made from a very smooth material that feels satin-like and premium to the touch. The metal parts have a dark, almost titanium-like finish. It also has a kick stand on the back so if you're not using it as a webcam you can prop it up and watch a movie on the train, plane or on your desk. Pricey (my only downside). Apple sell it too from their own website so you know it's not going to be cheap but it's a quality item and the results are worth the price IMHO.

I needed a clip that I could use in my MacBook, so I could use my iPhone as the camera. I had a look around and most of these are around the same price. The cheaper end, seem more to be sticky pads, which didn’t interest me too much. This however, is MagSafe and a trusted brand. The magnet is strong, and it feels quite nice in the back of the phone. Having a little kick stand is nice, as well as being able to use the ring whilst in the move, so the phone doesn’t accidentally fall out of hour hand. But really impressed with how they have been able incorporate those features as well as a little clip for the edge of your MacBook. When you initially see the size of it, you feel like the price is too high, but after using it and appreciating the design, I feel it’s worth the money.

But here’s a delightful twist: On a recent flight, I discovered another fantastic use for it. With the MagSafe Camera Mount, I could easily watch movies on my iPhone without having to hold it all the time. Joy! This dual-functionality turned out to be a game-changer, allowing me to seamlessly switch between entertainment and productivity during the flight. It was like having a mini, personal theater setup right there on my tray table. The ring grip design is another feature I appreciate, ensuring my iPhone stays perfectly positioned, whether I'm on a call or deep into a movie binge mid-flight. The Belkin MagSafe Camera Mount has proven to be more than just a simple accessory; it's a versatile tool that enhances both my professional presence online and my personal comfort while traveling. I can't recommend it enough.

* Updated after six months of use * I have a love hate relationship with Belkin products, as I have had quite a few issues in the past. This works well, although the iPhone 14 PM, is a very heavy phone, and with this device it precariously sits on top of my MacBook Pro. I need to be careful how I angle it otherwise it tips over quite easily. This is while sitting on my lap, using on a desk works better. Although keep that in mind, if you’re in a similar situation. Works well enough when used as a stand, as you can rotate the angle of the stand to accommodate the position required. The magnetic seems quite sturdy, and I have it always attached to my phone. I must say though, Continuity Camera quality is amazing, especially noticeable as I have an Intel MacBook, where the webcam isn’t as good as the M1/2 ones. When sitting with a strong light behind, can be tricky though. Overall, I’m very pleased with it. When I thought I’d lost it a couple of months ago, I did look at cheaper options, as I didn’t want to spend £30 again, especially as I thought of getting the Belkin monitor one as well at the time. In the end I found my original one, I’d removed it and forgot I placed it in my pocket, if I hadn’t, I would have spent the money as I know the quality of this item already, which I am happy with. One thing though, why do some Amazon drivers lie and say that deliveries were “Handed to Resident”? I wasn’t even in the country when this was delivered, and it was just left outside my flat. My preferences were changed without my consent, and even though it’s been requested to leave parcels with neighbours, some drivers don’t. There’s no direct option to make this specific complaint online, and I keep complaining to CS about this and it keeps happening.

It arrived in a state that didn't seem new. Then it broke after a month and a half, now too late to get an exchange.

This continuity camera mount attaches to the iPhone via the MagSafe magnets (make sure your phone has these). I’m using mine along with an Apple case and the grip is very strong so I know my phone isn’t going to just fall off the mount and land on the floor. The camera quality using the iPhone camera is much better than the inbuilt webcams in most laptops. It’s not cheap but Belkin make good quality accessories and this one is no exclusion. It would be nice to have something similar with the standard screw mount so I could mount the iPhone on the top of my monitor too rather than just on the laptop. It also works like a kickstand for your iPhone too.

I was looking for an easily removable/magnetic “phone popper/ring” type attachment for iPhone, pro max, so I can type one handed while holding phone securely at same time. However, This Belkin ring wasn’t comfortable for me to use one handed even though you could pull ring off and reposition with the silver ring pulled out. On plus side, It has good magnet that attaches and pulls off easily from phone and can prop up the phone for viewing. Belkin is good brand and its well made product, explaining its high price! Unfortunately it didn’t work for what I wanted. So given it 3 stars.

This ruined my life. Let me explain. The built-in cam on my Macbook pro makes me look like an extra in the Walking Dead. So, I kind of rely on continuity mode in MacOS and use my iPhone camera instead, which makes me look like a ducking rockstar. This means that I use this all the time. Every meeting. Every day. And today, the little clip bit that lets it hook onto my laptop screen broke, right before one of the most important meetings of the year. Cue lots of "Where's Luke?", "OMG dude are you ok?" and "You should go to hospital, you don't look right." I don't blame Belkin. This device is super sturdy and well designed. I blame myself for building up a dependency on it. And incidentally, I think it broke because when I'm not on calls, I'm constantly fidgeting with it, flipping it up and down like a twelve year old with ADHD. I think I need help. Anyway, if YOU look like you just died in your zoom calls, and want to use your phone cam instead, then get this. I've already ordered my replacement and taken the day off to avoid more awkward calls in the meantime.
