Pretty great as a novelty treat
I’ve never had anything freeze dried before, let alone an ice cream sandwich.I was lucky to receive mine completely intact, the vanilla is kinda overpowering but overall it’s got a great crunch and tastes pretty good.

Great gift but came crushed
Bought as an extra Christmas present for my partner, he was ecstatic as he loves space themed stuff that's unique and fun. He loved it and gave me a bite, but the bar came totally smashed to bits. The ice cream filling tastes like creamy vanilla flavoured custard, and has a texture similar to meringue when you bite it, but if you let it sit on your tongue for a few seconds and get some saliva on it, it starts to melt sort of like ice cream. The chocolate sandwich part is also tasty, much like a Bourbon biscuit. Good crunch on it. Altogether it was a great gift, but disappointed that it came so crushed. Tastes amazing, would have looked amazing, but for the price and long wait time, I wouldn't really say it's worth it... :(

Reviewed unfairly....
I see some people reviewing this item and giving it a poor rating because they did not like the taste... This bemuses me a little if I'm totally honest. This product consists of a free dried Ice cream sandwich, the purpose of which is to allow this food to be eaten in space. It is not freeze dried because they believe it will make the product better tasting. In my eyes reviewing this product on it's taste is pointless, and bordering the stupid line. Freeze dried products do not taste nice, do not expect it to. I purchased this product out of curiosity, as I'm sure most customer did, and quite frankly, the product is exactly as described, thus my 5* review.Don't purchase this product if you are looking for a tasty meal, you will be disappointed. If you are curious as to what astronaut food tastes like, then purchase this product.Note: It's highly likely that this product will be broken in places on arrival, as it's very fragile and will probably break during delivery.

Brilliant present for space fanatic son
Brilliant present for space fanatic son. He got to try space food!!! And it actually tasted nice! Seems little expensive but I bought it as a stocking filler and I think it's educational, encouraged lots of discussion and research into space food.

Dusty
I know its dried food and a bit dusty but I at least expected to taste ice cream.

Tastes good but smashed to bits
If you were expecting to eat this like a proper ice cream sandwich think again. For the price I would have expected it to be packaged better. On opening it was smashed into tiny pixels meaning we had to eat it with a spoon. Good luck trying to eat this in space!
