Brilliant book!
Full of interesting detail. Suitable for adults and older children; I'm hoping it will be a "hit" with a ten year old budding architect.

Every since I can remember, my daughter has insisted she wants to be an architect. Although this will undoubtedly change, I am always pleased to come across anything which will not only keep her occupied, but also enthuse her interest. This is a large, paperback book, which is suitable for any age really – from children to adults. It has some great activities – for example, there is a picture of the Eiffel Tower which is half completed and you need to finish it, or you can design a space city, improve a street scene which needs some greenery or come up with an original entrance to a building. The pictures are black and white, very detailed and certainly require some technical ability. My daughter is nine and has adored exploring this book. I would say it has the most appeal for older children with an interest in design and would recommend it for 8+ at the youngest. Great fun though and very inspiring.

Excellent!
Bought this book for my 11 year old niece but would suit ages around that and older. Just enough text to inspire, without the tedium of wading through too much technical jargon and inspiring projects to complete, covering lots of settings.

Such a great book for all ages and abilities
This book does a very hard task, it broaches a complex subject matter in a way that everyone can share delight in. From my 6 year old creating his own bridge, or recreating the right hand side of the Eiffel Tower. To informative and piecemeal learning of design professionals, or a thinking out of the box for education staff. Small exercises lead to great rewards in this well designed, impeccably thought out. I see these being a multiple buy, throughout the coming years. Thank you to the creators. Thank you very much.

this is perfect for a 13 year old - who at the moment wants to be an architect (plus a 75 year old)
Nothing to dislike ... I love the knowledge shared in the book and the encouragement - for all ages to create (even if the ambition of a teenager to be an architect 'wanes' ) on the blank pages of the book (as that is what they are there for) - if he hasn't as yet been to Barcelona - or Dubai ... and when he does (when all 'this Covid stuff' is over) he will look at the architecture- hopefully look at it with a more appreciative eye

14+ not for architects of all ages.
The book was new but the pages looked faded. Drawings to be copied or finished are too intricate for younger students. For 14 +

... Technology course I found this book a source of excellent material for my students
As a university lecturer on an Architectural Technology course I found this book a source of excellent material for my students. The ideas it provides along with the exceptional illustrations make it a must-buy for all aspiring architects/ technologists who want to develop the essential skill of line-drawing. Well done Steve!!!

Fun book to create with
I like the Archidoodle: The Architect's Activity Book. It gets the juices flowing for creating unusual and interesting buildings you otherwise never would have designed. It isn't a textbook or anything on a technical training level but it is a fun book to just create away in. For example, you are instructed to design a house by a cliff and one by a waterfall all the way to design and draw a sectional view of a house that has been influenced by a machine. Some ideas are fascinating like design a funky-looking chimney or design some ideas for domesticated animals, (other than a dog), with one idea showing a cat basket that hangs off a radiator. Some thought-provoking ones too like using a mountain slope, design in section the arrangement of a small thermal bath house and you are asked to consider views, light and privacy. So it can go from designing something simple to the very complex. I recommend this book to any novice architect, but I also recommend this to any pro out there too, because this book will get you to open up your skills and design things you might have never designed otherwise. There are plenty of buildings, cities and houses to design as well. One bobble is that most scenes are set so one is a little limited by set scenes to draw a building or a city, but that too is a challenge I kind of like since it makes you think about how to overcome a set scene and yet still design a great house, building or city. Just keep in mind this is a fun book to just create in. I love this book and I think you will too.
