Petmate pet-waterers, Plastic Blend, Silver, 0.5 GAL

After using plastic ones for so many years, and throwing them out after a year or so due to the accumulation of scaling from water residue, I decided to give this a go. I wasn't sure at first, since I have read in more than one place that cats may not like the steel feel or look, but that wasn't true in my case. This waterer takes so much less time to clean than other models, and it remains clean for much longer, specially from the cats' saliva, and it hasn't taken any water residue that wouldn't be wiped off immediately with the swipe of fingers or a brush. This also means that the water inside the bottle will keep cleaner and odourless for longer. The plastic bottle is a bit of a tight fit, and it keeps the water lower than I'd like, but if you don't push it down hard, and just fit it on its place gently so it won't topple over, you can have a higher water level. The rubber feet also keep it from sliding around - it actually was an issue with the plastic ones, as I did find the one all the way across the house once, and thought somebody had broken it. In the end, it was just one of the cats playing with it. All in all, it's a win. I'd only wish there was a bigger model available!

Well not quite, but this was brought for the Dalmatian who drinks loads and would come home to an empty water bowl, this stops that worry of him running out of water any day of th week, it's 5ltr plus the water you already put in the bowl would give you approx 6ltrs of water. the dog was a bit troubled at first when the bubbles would flow up through the water tank, but he's gotten used to it now, to be fair the Cat now drinks out of this more than the pumped water fountain for cats so they see the water moving, he now wants the dogs water. so cats dogs and i imagine elephants too would use this very handy source of water. saves me bending down 3 times a day to pick up the water bowl!

I have had a few plastic water dispensers. A couple were good but tend to get a build up of lime scale around the edges which dirt sticks to over time. Some of the plastic ones overflowed so the design wasn't good especially on uneven floors however you don't know this until you have used it and then cannot return. The stainless steel bowl is cleaner an can put in dishwasher. The flow of water is even so stops when bowl is full and does not over flow.Think is a bit expensive but if lasts a few years which I think it will I will be happy.I have 2 small dogs and this lasts them 2 days but tend to put fresh water in every day as their mucky chops make the water dirty.

Both of my two cats are happy to use this despite looking confused when air bubbles occasionally rise.With underfloor heating the water supply lasted pretty much for 3 weeks.I have dish-washed the base and it came out fine.I only deduct a star as I think the price is a bit steep, albeit I was willing to pay it. I use the  eBoot Silicone Mat  underneath to protect the floor, although I my cats very rarely spill the water.

Excellent product and does exactly what it says on the box. Saves us a lot of energy bending down and constantly filling the dog's bowl.I have a brown Labrador who has a fairly large head who could do with a little more room. I turn the bowl sideways so the tank is to my dogs ear to give her as much room as possible.Would be good if Petmate made a larger stainless steel version.I have looked at larger products but they are all plastic which wouldn't look so good or work so well.I like this design with the shiny base which makes the water look so appetizing. .

Great item. Be careful to clean under the rim where bottle rests on dish as it seems like bacteria could potentially form there. Loved the fact it's stainless steel and easy to clean. Way better than the plastic bowled ones.

Although smaller than I thought it would be this is great as I have two cats who now have water all day. As its stainless steel the bowl doesn't gunk up as the plastic ones tend to either.

Great product just wish the drinking area was slightly larger for the bigger dogs as the area around tends to get wet.
