Is this bag actually a tardis? It's bigger on the inside!
What a great canvas rucksack! I saw these at a cross-country event but didn't have enough cash at the time and I wanted to look at some reviews before I shelled out my hard-earned cash. So far, I feel it was money well spent! The bag is beautifully made and finished. There isn't a loose thread in sight. The sturdy zips all function smoothly and the leather tags are easy to grasp. Not sure how this bag will last as I've only had it a week, but on first impressions, it looks like it'll be my companion for a good long time!Buy one!***************Size:I needed a bag for work, primarily for my lunch and iPad, but also for the odd occasion I need to bring a 13" macbook in. This bag is stylish and quite compact to look at, but don't let this fool you. Despite this not being the "laptop" version, it fits the macbook (in it's neoprene sleeve) in with ease, and I can still fit the iPad (also in a neoprene sleeve) inside this roomy bag. At this point, I even still have room for my packed lunch! While on the subject of size, the main compartment of this bag will hold A4 documents. However, you won't fit one of those plastic document holders in as they are too tall. The same can be said of manilla folders (those cardboard ones).Pockets:There are 3 outer zipped pockets. The main pocket has your standard organiser pen and internal phone pockets. However, if you have anything bigger than a naked iPhone 5, you can forget about using it for your phone! The rest of the pocket is really deep and spacious though. There is a flat pocket at the front. I use this to carry rudimentary medical supplies (painkillers, plasters, etc.). It's not huge but it is more than a 'design feature'.The small top pocket is ideal for house keys, headphones and mp3 player - all at the same time! The two pockets at the side come in useful for a small water bottle, or a drinks can and velcro shut when not needed to keep things tidy. These also have sturdy compression straps to adjust overall bag volume if needed.Inside, there's one zipped pocket. This is the only thing that let's the bag down slightly. The pocket is a reasonable size, and is good for spare cash or cards. However, it's tricky to get into as it is on the back panel of the bag at the top. The top of the bag angles slightly downwards with the main zip more towards the front. You wouldn't really want to try and cram your wallet in if you need to get it out in a hurry! There is also an internal slip pocket on the back panel. Ideal to stop documents moving around too much. I use it to keep the ipad and sometimes my kindle from moving around. It's not big enough for the macbook though.Other handy points:The shoulder straps are just wide enough (if the bag isn't overloaded) and fairly well padded for what is essentially a fashion item (aka this isn't designed for hiking, but it would try its heart out!). The bag also stands up by itself. Awesome! No having to lean against walls. The only other thing I'd point out is that this is a sturdy, canvas bag. Canvas is not a light material, so the bag is over a kilo even when empty. This aside, it's well balance so you don't notice the weight, but it may be a consideration if you are flying and taking it as hand luggage. The major downside? I'm now tempted to buy some of the different sizes and colours!!

Great bag!
Well made and looks good. Lots of pockets, and just the right size to carry what I need, even my iPad! very satisfied. One slight downside is that it is not waterproof, otherwise would recommend heartily.

Contender for bag design of the year award!!
I rarely review products, but do when they're exceptional. For someone who buys most of my stuff from supermarkets, this was a bit of en expensive punt for me, but I saw the bag in a shop window and thought it looked great. Did some more research at home and decided to go for it. The bag is extremely well-made, looks amazing, feels great and is nice and light. Attention to detail personifies this bag. Leather detail, study zips, plenty of pockets, comfortable straps, high quality materials and lining, durable material - and the colour looks great! Overall, worth every penny as I can see this bag lasting for 10+ years. Bought it to carry a gimbal (video tripod thingy!) but plenty of room for that and drink, lunch, tissues etc etc! I've never seen a bag so well-made and so cool looking. Whoever designed this should win a bag design of the year award. You don't always get what you pay for, but in this case, you definitely do!

Fades after first year
EDIT: Editing this review five years later. Knocking off two stars. In the second year, the colour faded rapidly, and now after five years the bag is on its last legs - mould, stains, a couple of holes (see pics) - so I am looking for a new one. I expect a rucksack to last more than five years - before, I had an Animal bag that lasted me ten or so.MY ORIGINAL REVIEW:Best rucksack I've owned. Previously I had bought a cheap £15 Karrimor bag from sports direct which lasted a matter of weeks before the stitching fell apart. For just £25 to £30 more I've now got a bag that's lasted a year and looks to last many, many more. It's a little smaller than I expected (a tad smaller than the average rucksack I'd say - might struggle with the full length of a fifteen inch laptop for example), but that's its only downside. The stitching is top notch, there are loads of pockets and compartments and a nice division in the main section. The zips, fabric and leather are top quality. Heavy items or stuffing it to bursting seems all in a day's work for this baby. But the most stunning thing about this bag is it is just mind blowingly GOOD LOOKING. Honestly, the first few weeks it made me happy just to look at it - it gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside and I felt I had the best looking rucksack in my city, perhaps even the WORLD. Everyone else was walking around with pedestrian looking backpacks and I had THIS. My own approval of the bag was confirmed by society at large when the compliments started coming. And they never ended! I've had more complimentary remarks about this bag than about any other item of apparel I've ever owned, maybe even any other material product! Of all the reviews I've done on Amazon this is my most enthusiastic and recommendiest. It's important that you all know. Buy this.

Good quality bag
After looking at the dimensions and measuring it against what I was replacing, decided that this would just about do for what I wanted - a rugged bag that can hold my lunch, wallet, umbrella etc.Construction is well built and feels like it will last. In fact, been using it every day for several months and it is still in the same condition as when I purchased it. It has 2 side pockets that can hold the usual drinks when walking, a front zip pocket reveals a generous pouch with pockets for pens and bits and bobs, with a side zip that can hold other items. The main compartment is large and quite well padded, it has a back pouch that i use to hold papers and a small zipped pocket that I use to hold keys. Also on the front top is a small zip. This is a very small pocket, but I use it to hold those travel gel soaps when out and about, and it is perfect for that.Very happy with purchase, but do check the dimensions before ordering.
