CokinU30002 Z-PRO Gradual ND Filter Kit - White

Ordered these from Amazon and they arrived fairly quickly. This is my 1st set of filters that I decided to get. really easy to use and fun to experiment with. I am just starting to really enjoy landscape photography and I felt these would help me out. I also purchased another set to compliment these at the same time. This was the Cokin U30001 Z-PRO Full ND Filter Kit - White, 11993 - White which I will also review. They are plastic resin, so could easily be scratched but if you are careful should last well. The IQ seems very and don't seem to put much of a colour cast onto the image, easily corrected in post processing. Yes I would recommend them for beginners.

Lets be clear, Lee, in my opinion make the worlds best filters. It's a simple fact and once accepted, you'll sleep better at night! A close second in my opinion are the Cokin filters.OK, there will be a tonne of people that will disagree and I can accept that. There are some truly fantastic filters out there and they are better optically than the Cokin's. However, Cokin produce filters for the aggressive amateur and they are not designed (imo) to be used by a professional that relies on colour corrected, optically flawless grads or ND's,In my opinion, the Cokin filters offer good value for money, if treated with a little care they offer a good ROI. Go out and buy some and see for yourself...

I recently purchased this kit and have not yet had an opportunity to test in the field. At the time of writing ( 3rd Feb 2017) the items shown and the description are of the smaller and cheaper 'P' series. It should also be noted that all three filters are Hard Transition and when I contacted Cokin they advise that the only Soft Transition filter available is the Z121S which is not included in this kit.

These fit nicely into my Lee filter holder at a fraction of the cost. Can't see any tint or discolouration in the glass. Will add to the collection at a later date.

I like these filters a lot they do what they are designed to do and for me a filter novice they are fine.
