You can take out the one in the engine and compare it to the new one- if it does not match up - return it. Some drain plugs are longer than others and will not screw in fully - that is true of my Road King primary cover oil plug. Chech with a dealer -!

Q: Does this fit the primary drain and the oil pan drain?

If your threads are 9/16-18. My ride is an 01 Big Twin and to stop a leak I drilled oversize and used this one. No leak now

Q: What is the thread pitch?

These bikes are made in the USA and use a standard inch system. Do not put metric into your head. a 1/2-20 means that the diameter is .5 inch and the threads are 20 threads per inch. FYI - Metric calls out the distance between each thread in their method of calling out thread size. (Also known as the pitch) In inches, the thread size is always called out as the number of threads there are in an inch of length. (Also known as the pitch) Totally different from metric and I will admit, a little confusing if you do not know that.
