Martial arts manga movie starring Kim Kyeong-Su as a misfit who has been expelled from eight successive schools because his telekinetic powers always lead him into trouble. But when he arrives at Volcano High, he realises that the other students are similarly gifted. It isn't long before the students stage an uprising against the villainous teachers, at the centre of which is an ongoing search for a mystical manuscript that contains the secret of how to end the chaos at the school and restore order and harmony.

Volcanic martial action
Action, drama, romance, there's got a lot going for this movie, true the story isn't the greatest, but how often do you watch a martial arts film for a story anyway. The hero's actions are almost always rather goofy and it does get in the way a bit, though it by no means spoils the film, the special effects are very good and the fightings scenes are good too, some parts were accidental, but they add some realism.Sadly, the one thing that does spoil the film, is the editing done by Premier Asia! In order to get the film down to what they deemed as a more commercial run-time, they edited out parts from the movie, but in most particular, the scene that sets up all of the 2nd half of the film... no idea why though, must have been a moment of blind stupidity, as nothing makes any sense afterwards. Thankfully, they did give us the scene in the extra's, so you can at least watch it and finally understand the rest of the movie. The extra's are pretty solid, you get a commentary track by Bey Logan, the aforementioned scenes cut by PA and making of featurettes that actually do show the making of the film, unlike the pointless drivel that you often get masquerading as a making of, story board comparisons, interviews and more.As said, by no means a masterpiece and is rather ruined by PA's senseless cuts, but overall, a quite enjoyable film.

Great Fun
OK ok this film isn't the most indulgent plotwise. However if you like action and lots of style this film is for you!! Bring on Korean new wave!!

Is it worth the money?
This film is only worth the money if you are collecting Premier Asia titles (like myself)... Thats it.. One watch and it will sit on your shelf. After such Premier Asia titles such as Ong Bak, Ju On the Grudge and Musa the Warrior and Korean films like Old boy, Lady Vengeance, Phone and Shiri this film was a real let down. The plot was non existant... However there are 3 good points about this Dvd1. Up to the usual high standard of Premier Asia.. All the extra fetures are top notch2. I did like some of the music3 When the end credits rolling you get a sense of relief. The reason why this is getting 2 stars rather than 1 is because the "extras" are pretty good... That is about the only saving grace

I ended up giving up and going and having a bath instead.
I rented this through Amazon's on-line postal rental service. It started off promising - but the story-line was either so 'all over the shop' it could not be followed, or non-existant. I'm still not sure which. It's just a whole bunch of (badly choreographed) fight scenes tacked together. With some rather dubious CG. I eventually gave up all together.Go and watch Versus again instead.

enticing front cover, nothing else
Poor, thoroughly dissapointing. I bought this from amazon thinking wow, looks great, must have good fight scenes, plot and so forth. I did watch the whole film through out and it was thoroughly rubbish. starts off well, you follow the protagonist a young boy in a new school with........with a secret, you feel. characters develope well but your always waiting for that something that never comes. Fight scenes not very memorable and your left feeling like you've wasted valuable time on this film.

Utter piece of Crap!- Completely sucks! -Don't Buy it !
This thing is such a piece of junk and such a crime pushing the faces of hip hop artists on the cover who obviously have no interest in it themselves. They just took the money and run. After buying it I asked my friends in America if the ever heard of this movie and they said that they had, but it was all bad because everyone knows it is a bad rip off of the tv series "Kung Faux" that they all love. They said that if you want an american hip hop meets martial arts experience that is awesome go buy a "Kung Faux" dvd, and I say if you want a good Asian actioner don't waste your money on this, because it neither of those things. I didn't laugh, I wasn't entertained, the whole thing just layed their like a pile of crap.Be smart and go try something else. You will be glad you did.
