Can the cameras work on a 12v battery

I believe it will, it just needs a constant 12v 3-4 amps of supply, if you have it on a car battery, I would only suggest using 40amps of capacity of a 60amp car battery. So will likely last for 10 hours untill the car battery needs recharging.

Does the nvr have a cooling fan running? it will be kept in bedroom so needs to be silent running.

When I go to hdd set up there is no hdd the hdd part is empty

Please follow the steps below to check your camera system: 1.Please refer to the video in the attachment to check the power supply for the NVR box is 12V/2A or not. Because the NVR box needs connect with 12V/2A power supply to make the hdd work normally; 2.If the power supply is ok, Please right click the mouse-system setup-HDD setup-click format. 3.If the step 2 can not work, Please open the NVR box and unplug the hdd cable then plug it again to test it. 4.If these steps can not work, please let us know and i will take further action to solve this issue. Can i cover part of camera . so i dont record neighbours house as there door is close to mine . like black out part of camera?
