Update: If the TV stops working on your Android phone then you can either update the app in the Play Store or contact Dafffodil the supplier, or August the supplier for an APK to get the updated app. If that still doesn't work then you may need to grant permission to the device again. You can't do this by uninstalling and reinstalling the app; on an Android phone you have to remove the device Wi-Fi permissions from your phone and when you go to the app you will be asked to grant permission "Never, Only this time, or While using the device and you should choose "While using the device." The way to remove Wi-Fi permissions on a Samsung Galaxy Android phone is to go to Settings > General management > Reset > Reset Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings > Reset settings. This worked for me and my phone recognised the TV again. You will need to put your broadband password back in again when using Wi-Fi and re-pair your Bluetooth devices, but it is a small price to pay to get your mobile phone recognising the TV again. It's hard to believe that such a little device can pack such a punch. The picture is amazing and the little aerial performs better than my house aerial which I can't understand. It picks up loads of channels. People are saying that the recommended app is a paid for app, which is true, but you can also get a free app called August 405 by August International in the play store. The app is extremely easy to use. I'm very happy with this product and would highly recommend. You can't use WiFi on your phone or tablet while you are watching TV because the tuner sets up it's own local WiFi, and I wish you could set up scheduled recording, you have to press record on the channel you are tuned into, but these are not show stoppers as I use an old mobile phone as a media player and for this TV and I record TV on it when there are two programs I want to watch at the same time. This is the best gadget I've bought. It's what I've been waiting for a long time but didn't know such a device even existed.

Great little device It does exactly what it says it does. I started with the included external aerial which on first scan, at ground level, found 60 channels, But taking it up a floor returned over 100 channels which surprised me given what a tiny aerial it is. Connecting to it is simple, download the appropriate app from google play store, switch to the wifi network that the device creates and open the app. Picture quality is surprisingly good, although using the little external aerial there was some occasional drop out of the picture. The initial page serves as a list of channels and now/next program guide. Tapping on a channel instantly switches channel. Once playing, tapping the screen will allow you to use the 'pause live tv' features or start recording. Both seem to work fine and when you tap the record button there is a little immediate feedback, with the record button flashing, but no obvious indication is shown while recording which would make it easy to forget and leave it recording indefinitely. It looks like it uses about 1GB per hour of recording. Recordings are shown in their own page which preserves program information from the episode guide as well as date time, channel and duration. The wifi signal is not very strong making it a little unreliable if you get any substantial distance from the device. However I think this is still preferable to the similar devices which require to be plugged into your phone or tablet. If I was looking for something to criticise the biggest issue would be the wifi network. The instructions give you a password to connect to the wifi but in fact it is a completely open network that does not require a password, nor can you set a password from the settings pages of the app. It's not much of a security risk: the network will only exist while you have the device turned on to watch TV and it is a self contained network which obviously has no connection to the internet so although people could connect to it without permission there is little reason to do so. What would make the device pretty much perfect in my view would be if it were possible to make the device connect to your own home network instead of creating its own.

I was very sceptical that this would work with the tiny little aerial but to its credit, it did well. I bought this to mainly watch the Tour de France while we was away on holiday and it always seemed to pull in a decent signal. I moved the aerial outside of my camper van using the magnetic mount (included) and had to re-tune when we moved location but we had no issues watching the highlights or live when we had the chance. Battery is not great though, you can connect it to a power bank which gives more options. Not used the record feature for anything other than a quick test but that worked OK too.

Update: after leaving the below review the seller responded to my email and provided a link to an app to download. This has thankfully worked and not resulted in me downloading a virus as far as I know. Have used the gadget camping and always managed to get at least a few channels even with the very small aerial supplied. Am leaving the review as is to warn others with newer versions of android that you'll need to contact the seller for the correct app (unless they fix this obviously This is the most frustrating purchase I have made in a really long time. I am so annoyed I am going to report to Amazon. This item DOES NOT WORK with all android devices as described. It only works with OLD versions of android. I don't know which ones because it doesn't say it in the description or instructions. The first you realise that it's not going to work is when you can't find the app. Then you use the community that is amazon to ask questions only to receive the response from people who've purchased ages ago that the app does exist. Then you'll waste another period of time getting other android devices out to see if you can make them work but if they were built in the last 2 years then they won't. This, of course, could have all been resolved through the seller actually putting this in the description. Instead they seem to think that your device is magically going to transport itself back several years to a time when it could be compatible with the app. I've emailed customer service but I am not wasting any more time with this rubbish and already starting my return. A real shame because the unit actually looks great and would have been perfect for my needs if it hadn't been for the fact that it is utterly useless without the app. Do not buy.

I bought this unit on an Amazon deal of the day recently. I read the reviews before purchasing but they all seemed to be by people who had been given the product to review for nothing or at a very discounted price. How do they manage that? I usually review products I purchase for the benefit of others but have never, ever been sent anything to review free gratis! So this is a genuine review by a fully paid up customer. This is a great little product. It is so small but easy to set up on my Amazon Fire HD and ipad2. It is about the size of a match box but half as thick and comes with a neat little aerial and longer external aerial if you need it. It also has a great tactile feel to it and looks really smart. The unit has a rechargeable battery in it, charged from Standard sub charger- red light goes out when fully charged. The WiFi signal has a good reach - I have my unit in the upstairs office and I can see the signal well in my downstairs conservatory. The record facility works really good as well. I have recorded a children's programme to play back later when out with the kids. I also got a £10 off voucher for a Bluetooth stereo speaker unit that the company makes. Now I don't really need one but at £12 discounted it was too bigger bargain to not go for.......so I have ordered one! So if you are looking for a small but powerful gadget to enable you to get free view tv on your tablets in the house or out and about I would definitely recommend this product.

mobile freeview tv tuner, built-in battery so use it on the go, works through app on your fone or tablet or smart tv, no mibile data needed. this thing is tiny and the antennas are small but pick up loads of channels and worked great and it was on the floor in my house (which is bad for all types of signal phone networks house tv ect.) and with the tiny and i mean tiny telescopic antenna it still worked amazingly. great product.

Superbly quick delivery by Prime as usual. I could have done with this little gizmo 10 years ago but we had to wait until now (2018). Bought for viewing TV in our caravan on our tablet which has a much better screen than any TV you can buy anywhere. Our little caravan TV has terrible viewing angles whereas the tablet is superb in that respect at a fraction of the price. I will be 3D printing a mount to fit our 75x75 VESA bracket and we’ll be away. Using a Bluetooth keyboard track pad to control the tablet remotely. Unfortunately remote control isn’t possible on the iPad so although you can download and use the app on iOS it can’t be controlled remotely whereas and Android tablet can. I was set up and using the TV tuner box in a couple of minutes. Really easy to set up. Even worked for me on the supplied antenna so will certainly work well with a caravan aerial. Excellent little product and great working softwate with the Siano TV app. Works great on my old Hudl2 so should on any later tablet.

Works pretty well, but don't expect HD or 4k picture. Takes a while to get the ariel set up without interference, but overall it is a cheap and quick way to watch tv on an old iPad in my campervan.

Ich habe es einfach mal probiert und bin begeistert. 40 Sender, Apps funktionieren einwandfrei. Leider geht es nicht auf iMac.

Ha un ottima ricezione e nella scatola ci sono antenne e adattatori per ogni esigenza. Le dimensioni sono molto ridotte e questo comporta una batteria non molto capiente e che dura circa 3 ore, ma comunque soddisfacente visto che funziona anche collegato ad un alimentatore. Lo uso con iPad Air e funziona perfettamente!

Recepcion espectacular desde exterior, con los canales en hd un poco de problemas a no se que dispongas de un iphone 6s plus o un ipad de ultima generacion, sino es el caso los hd los veras a saltos, la bateria dura bastante como unas 5 horas, tambien le puedes conectar una bateria externa, funciona mientras lo cargas, la conexion al dispositivo via wifi es facilisima y rapida, las antenas que lleva van todas bien, incluso con la extensible pequeñita la recepcion es buena. La app es gratuita, sencilla de usar, rapida buscando canales, te ofrece informacion del programa actual y del Siguiente, puedes grabar y pausar lo que estas viendo en directo. En definitiva un receptor de tv de pequeñisimo tamaño que cumple con su funcion ampliamente. Muy contento con la compra, envio rapidisimo y ok como siempre con Amazon.
