Excellent for transporting our MTB
Easy assembly, well constructed and will serve our MTB transportation needs really nice. The bikes do swing freely once mounted so ordered Velcro Hook Loop Cable Tie Down Straps, 14" Length x 1" Width, Black (Pack of 10), 9" x 1" and 21" x 1" in order to safely secure the tires to the frame and the frame to the rack to minimize any bike swinging while transporting the bikes. We also have Highland (9008400) Bungee Cord Assortment Jar - 24 Piece for additional stability while the bikes are on the rack.I am sure with all of these additional items, the bikes will be safely secured to the rack and will surely eliminate any free swinging of the bikes, tires and prevent any dings to the bikes as well.Update 7/22: We finally had a chance to take our new MTB on the road with the bike rack working very nicely as expected. I didn't need to use any Bungee Cords but I did use a few velcro straps to secure the bikes to the rack and to each other in order to avoid any swinging and bumping of the bikes to the rack and to each other. These velcro straps are awesome and did their job fantastically. The rack was able to hold the bikes with no issues and the tie down straps that come with the rack do serve their purpose even though they are not the rubber type straps that you will find and see on the more expensive racks.BTW, the MTB we purchased are Diamondback 27.5 Sorrento's with small size for my wife and the large size for me. Both bikes fitted nicely on the racks but you do have to set them up in reverse direction on the rack since the handle bars would prevent you to mount them in the same direction. The anti-movement pin that comes with the rack is effective and did not have any movement of the rack while transporting the bikes. One last thing ... I came up with a "MacGyver" solution to prevent the bike closest to the vertical metal part of the rack from dinging the bike by using some unused quilting batting from my wife's quilting locker which I wrap around the rack's vertical pole and even used a couple of the velcro straps to keep it in place. My "MacGyver" design and solution is working just fine and I don't intend to ever transport the bikes in the rain but if the batting does need to be replaced for whatever reason, I can always raid my wife's quilting locker for some additional batting :-).You just cannot beat the price (we paid $99) of this rack for its functionality and craftsmanship especially if you have limited funds to otherwise purchase a more expensive model and brand.

High quality rack
There is nothing cheap about this rack. It took about 15 minutes to assemble and the instructions were pretty good. My only complaint is it does wiggle a little from left to right; but that is not because of the locking hitch bolt. The problem is the pin, with the snap that allows the rack to drop, does not fit tight. If the rack prevents the trunk from opening then you may have to live with it but it's not that bad. I'm very impressed with the quality and the price was very reasonable; it was also boxed very nicely unlike the hitch that Amazon sent me.Some adjustments I made:Wiggle: Since lifting my trunk lid does not interfere with the rack. I went to Lowes and bought a 3/8 x 3" grade 5 bolt and locking nut (has the plastic ring in it; cost 14 cents; the bolt is a buck+) these are in the specialty drawers and they can help you find them. Don't just grab any bolt get a grade 5 or 8. I then moved the bolt that came with the unit up to where the pin was and put the Lowes bolt in the lowest hole. When you tighten these, there will be no wiggle but you will not be able to rotate the rack down and the pin will need to be cut off or duct taped to the rack (my choice).Just in case: I also bought a strap on Amazon that latches on the back of the trunk lid and loops around the top of the rack. This provides some added strength when you hit a bump but you will need to unhook it to open the trunk lid. (CURT 18050 Bike Rack Stabilizer Strap; it was confusing to put on the first time).Bike strap lock adjustment: I can load both bikes with just 5"s between them but the straps locks are about 10"s apart. So I removed the red ends with an allen wrench and slipped off the plastic 8" tubes and cut them in two lengths of 3.5 and 4.5 inches. Then slipped the 4.5" tubes on then the strap locks then the 3.5" tubes and put the red ends back on. Now the bikes are snug together and this puts less pressure on the rack. At least I think so.Hopefully, none of this voids the warranty but all three of these should make the rack safer IMHO.

A Best Buy!
Believe the reviews that say this is terrific! I had some concerns about the small receiver shaft wobbling in my 2-inch hitch, but Allen Sports has really figured it out with their "wobble bolt." My rig is tight and vibration free. From the pictures it looked like the plates on the hitch were plastic shims, but they are well-designed (removable) plates screwed to the main shaft. And their design -- again -- contributes to the rigidity of the frame when mounted.I mounted this rack in less than 10 minutes, threw on the bikes and drove 700+ miles without any issues whatsoever. Bikes arrived without a scratch and as secure as they were when I left the driveway. There are only three factors of this hitch that I'll point out: 1) It is an inch or two higher than it needs to be, so the bikes are in the rear window of my SUV. (This could be an adjustable setting of the rack if Allen Sports (or I, I suppose) would drill a couple of different holes in the upper piece of the rack.) 2) It does trigger the proximity sensors in my rear bumper. So I had to dig through the owner's manual to figure out how to disable that.As others have mentioned, the frame of the bike will bang on the vertical section of the rack if not attended to. I wrapped a thin sheet of foam rubber around the upright and secured it with some black duct tape I had handy. You can't even see the pad, and it cushions the frame of the first bike when tied down with a bungee cord.My favorite feature of this rack is the tilting mechanism. It makes it trivially easy to move the bikes out of the way for access through the tailgate.Overall, one of my best Amazon purchases this year. I've compared Yakima and Thule racks at 3-5+ times the price and can't find anything in them that is superior to this one.

The wobble is real folks! But manageable!
The media could not be loaded. Ok, so this thing has good reviews overall, but there is a lot of talk of wobble--which is true. I ended up buying it because a lot of people seemed to work past this. I used the 'no-wobble' bolts and nylock nuts that came with it, but it wobbles. I have a 1.25" hitch, and tried this with a locking hitch pin, and the no-wobble bolt. There was NO difference--each wobbled A LOT!!!Also, please understand, all of my talk of wobble is of the bike rack attaching to the hitch receiver. I am NOT referring to bike's swaying while on the rack. That is dumb to knock points on since that is EASILY solved with bungee cords.Other than the wobble nonsense, this thing is solid steel and a great design. If I can figure out a reliable method to stop the wobble of the bike rack where it fits into the hitch, I will bump up a star. After I actually use it, it could earn 5 stars. For now, it's getting a 3 though.**UPDATE** (from 3 to 5 stars)Ok, so I have used this a few times now, and have a better grasp of the dynamics of this thing. The wobble exists, but I have determined after many uses, and going down the interstate around 77-80mph, it is secure.I decided to use my locking hitch pin instead of the wobble bolt for a few reasons. One being, it locks with a key. This also makes it easier to remove it when you don't want the rack on the car. Also, it wobbles just as much with the hitch pin, as it did with the anti-wobble bolt. Now to my bikes. With my mountain bike, I have a center shock which bumps against the center beam of the rack if I use the inner most mount straps. So I attach it to the outer strap notches, which works great. I use a bungee cord to keep the front wheel from swaying, but in order to keep the bike from swaying, I use a ratchet strap and attach it to the hitch mount. This works great. It doesn't look beautiful, and it's a little more work, but it's functional and secure, which is all that matters to me. (see pictures of my bikes, and them on the rack) My road bike secures on the inner mount, but I still use a ratchet strap in addition to the bungee cord. It's probably over kill, but I feel better using it. Also note, the little 'notches' the bike rests on do rotate, so it is possible to strap down difficult bikes, you may just need to think creatively.Overall, I am really happy with this rack. I have attached a video of me driving with a bike on the back, and moving the wheel slightly to cause the rack to wobble. Like I said, it is absolutely secure, but this is what you will be dealing with more than likely. *I am using the small hitch, not the larger one that takes the attachments*

Solid, lightweight, and easy to install.
I love this bike rack. I tried a different version, with the built in lock and that did not work out for me as the lock was a bit too finicky, so I returned that rack. I bought this rack from the warehouse at a substantial discount and it came looking brand new. I am attaching a few photos to show how it looks on my Honda Fit. To help with a slight wobble, I also attached the u-bolt you see in the photo and that makes it solid. When I'm not using the rack for my bike, I just keep it on my car since it can easily recline back and I can open my Honda rear door with just pulling out a pin. When a bike is not on the rack, I keep it secured with a bungee cord and between the bungee cord and the u-lock, I hear no wobble, even going over railroad tracks. When a friend was following me, she said my bike didn't move at all, so I'm happy that it is so solid. I have a rear view camera on my 2013 Honda, so I attached a picture of what it looks like when I'm looking at the camera backing up.I also like that it is relatively lightweight and easy to put on and off. I am a senior female, and the weight is a critical feature on a bike rack. When I was installing it, I used some anti-seize so that the bolts will not get stuck and can be unscrewed easily.
