A seriously top end product
I watched a lot of reviews of this product before buying it. It is said it will triple the battery life. So it will pay for itself on a single battery over a few years. It is very easy to use. Plug in and go if you just want the 'descaling and charge funtion. It charges my 85 Amp hour battery very fast indeed. If you want the battery reconditioning it is a one button press. Manufacturer recommends use this about once a year. It took my battery about 20 hours to go through this conditioning cycle. For those with 'domestic' battery banks on a boat or in a motorhome this is a superb buy. It charges at a full 10A during the bulk cycle so expect to get a 200Amp Hour battery bank at 50% discharge up to full in under 18 hours. Possibly 15 hours. Oh, and there is an analysis cycle which checks the batteries ability to hold charge and warns if the battery is nearing the end of its life. Good kit.

Motorhome vehicle battery problem sorted!
We have a Ford Transit based Autosleeper Pollensa motorhome which we keep on our drive. The leisure batteries are no problem to keep charged using the mains lead. The vehicle battery was another matter altogether. Over the winter we had to call out the AA several times to deal with a flat vehicle battery when we wanted to go off with the van for a few days. Jump leads did not work as it was completely flat and an ordinary charger cannot be left on for long periods. The ordinary charger also failed to revive the completely flat battery. The AA man recommended this type of conditioning charger (he did not mention any particular make) as it can be left connected for long periods and gets around a weekly drive around the block to keep the vehicle battery charged. This regular drive was something we kept on overlooking and this caught us out! The unit also conditions and maintains the battery. We have just returned from a month away in August (without the van) having left the van battery charger connected all that time. No problems at all with starting the engine first turn of the ignition key! The unit might appear to be expensive but it means no hassles in keeping the battery charged and conditioned. Hopefully it will also prolong the battery life which is something to take into account when thinking about the cost of a new replacement vehicle battery. This was a point that the AA man made. It comes with a battery plug lead which you can leave connected to the battery and this neatly tucks out the way when the charger is not connected. Connecting up the charger is very easy using this and avoids having to slide the seat, remove the cover and then connect the terminals and then reversing that later to disconnect the unit. I have not noticed the unit getting hot and feel confident about leaving it connected and unattended for long periods of time. All in all a worthwhile investment with the peace of mind it gives you.

Totally silent charger
I bought this charger to replace a cheaper automatic 20 Amp charger that had an extremely noisy fan, which eventually failed. It had been temporarily replaced by a basic car charger which though satisfactory did not control current or voltage, so it would charge at well over 14.4 if not switched off when the battery was fully charged. By contrast this charger is totally silent, and seems so far to do the job required of it. My application is possibly slightly unusual in that I run the charger whilst my solar panels are generating to charge 3 banks each with 2 135AH batteries. I then use the batteries to power LED lighting and other electronics. The charger is connected to a normal mains socket so that any solar generation is still recorded by the FIT meter. Currently this charger is charging the bank which has the lowest demand, following a week's normal running in July (sunny) this battery is now fully charged and the charger has 7 LEDs lit. I do notice that with natural cooling only the charger does get quite hot, but is still touchable so I guess this is normal. As there is no fan this charger must be very efficient. I had been concerned that 270AH would be too much for the charger to manage, but felt that the quoted 300AH maintenance guideline was more like my actual use. So far this seems to be the case. I am now thinking of replacing the other 2 chargers with these once there has been a period of satisfactory. In the short term I may also try this charger in a higher demand position and see how it performs.

Ctek 10 vehicle battery charger
Excellent Quality, easy to use and works well. CTEK have good internal waterproofing, so ace in damper winter conditions, but try to use in the dry nevertheless, with the battery well under cover ! Pricey, but bought on a good pre-xmas deal at almost a third off. The ability to charge Lithium batteries would have been good, but fine for Lead Acid batteries.

Simple to use and quick to charge.
Seemingly one of the best chargers according to my Internet research. Was very simple to charge the battery - basically just clip on leads & plug in . I didn't even press mode button and it went through all 8 stages. Was quick too compared to my old charger as it only took about 6 hours. It has a lead for temp control too to reduce the chance of overheating. Only used it on an old car with basic battery but bought it so it would be suitable for relatively new stop start car with modern AGM battery too, have not needed or tested that yet. Cannot comment on the conditioning or recon ability either but it is one of the reasons I choose it. On the negative side I would list complaints as follows : 1) only comes with cardboard box and black sack like bag with silver drawstring. The quality of the bag is also only so so. 2) the silver plastic body of the charger is slippy & cheap looking - why does it not have have the plastic body with moulded textured rubber ? 3) an extra accessory called a rubber bumper can be purchased to protect the charger body & prevent it sliding but it is £30 ! Absolute robbery . This explains point 2) !! 4) no case for the charger & leads only a substandard bag . I had to purchase a Khanka storage case that does this job well but is another £20 . So you may well need to make additional purchases of a Khanka case and a CTEK rubber bumper (extra £50) after buying this CTEK charger and let's be honest it is not a cheap charger . I feel these should be included by CTEK or the rubber protection should be encorporated into the body design.

Ctek mxs 10
The charger arrived at about midday, and I have never been able to complain or have any issues with condition on delivery. I have the charger going through it’s paces as I write this . If there are any issues I will edit the revue. The item is doing it’s job and I hope that it give long service . I have two cars stop/start modern mini and a older version so I am happy to say it works for both cars . It’s tidy and powerful . My next purchase will be an extension for it and maybe the cig adaptor . The older car is not being used a great deal and I want to keep a eye on its charge . It has bought back the calcium battery so far and I have to charge the standard led one after but will my other charger to start it off and then switch after . Let’s hope the renowned selector button doesn’t crash on me . If so I won’t be happy . All good so far fingers crossed. It’s on gassing at the Moment on recon on a calcium battery and going well . I didn’t need to buy a new battery after all but did a while ago . Magic charger well worth it

Well worth the investment
Yes you can just buy a new car battery every couple of years or so or you can make the investment and look after the batteries you have to make them last as long as possible. I chose to make the investment. My car had a flat battery whilst camping once and to ensure that didn't happen again it was a choice between buying a spare battery to put in the boot (too heavy), a jump-starter or a battery charger. I decided on the charger so I could use the campsite mains to keep my battery topped-up throughout my stay. I decided on CTek due to the numerous reviews & awards this company has received. I went with the MXS 10 for a faster charge. My car battery (60amp hours) goes from steps 4 to 7 in about 2-3 hours. Step 4 is a battery that has enough charge to start the car and Step 7 is fully charged. I've emailed a few questions to CTek and each time they've replied very quickly with great advice. Overall, very happy I bought this. It feels very robust, is totally silent and is a quality piece of kit. I would suggest buying the 2.5m Comfort Connect Extension Cable to make life a bit easier.

Battery Charger
This battery charger also provides a 12 volt output for testing components that I have found to be an excellent tool - you don't have to find a car battery to do the job. An excellent versatile product reasonably priced

Wrong plug type.
The plug supplied with unit is a two pin plug which is not suitable for Ireland or UK.The point of origin seems to have been Poland.I’m sure it is an excellent charger but I’m unable to use it due to the latter issue.
