Featuring over 60 new cards including story and vision cards, it enriches the original gameplay by challenging players to interpret ghostly dream clues within an average 42-minute playtime. Perfect for social gatherings, it enhances critical thinking and teamwork without requiring batteries or assembly. ## Description On a dark and stormy night you return to the creepy mansion that was the scene of a horrible murder. As one of the world’s leading psychic investigators, you need all your powers of interpretation to solve the crime. This expansion to the groundbreaking Mysterium adds six new items, six new characters, and six new locations to the game. It also introduces 18 story cards which add more depth to the ghost’s tale. Featuring beautiful art from Xavier Collete and M81 Studio the ghost can only communicate through the visions of the psychics. Will you be able to decipher the clues? One player takes on the role of the ghost. They have all the elements of the crime, but they need to lead the psychics to the right answers. Deduction, interpretation, and intuition will all come in handy in this paranormal expansion to the award-winning Mysterium! This is an expansion. A copy of the Mysterium base game is required for play. ## Features - Mysteries: Secrets and Lies brings new characters, locations, items and story cards to Mysteries - Now instead of trying to get each investigator to identify an object, the ghost must instead use the dream cards to convey the story of their demise - 2 to 7 Players - 40 Minutes Playing Time - Ages 10 and Up ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Age Range Description | 10 years to 99 years | | Are Batteries Required | No | | Asin | B076HFR8PS | | Best Sellers Rank | 157,923 in Toys & Games (See Top 100 in Toys & Games) 2,872 in Board Games (Toys & Games) | | Brand Name | Asmodee | | Colour | Multicoloured | | Country Of Origin | Hong Kong | | Cpsia Cautionary Statement | Choking Hazard - Small Parts, No Warning Applicable | | Customer Package Type | FFP | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars (815) 4.8 out of 5 stars | | Edition | Standard Edition | | Educational Objective | Developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills | | Estimated Playing Time | 40 Minutes | | Expansion For | Mystery | | Game Mechanics | cooperative | | Genre | Mystery | | Global Trade Identification Number | 03558380047308 | | Included Components | Game | | Indoor Outdoor Usage | Indoor | | Is Assembly Required | No | | Item Dimensions | 27.5 x 4 x 11.8 centimetres | | Item Highlight | Ages 10 and up, 2-7 Players, Average Playtime 42 Minutes, Multicolor | | Item Type Name | "Mysterium Secrets and Lies Expansion" Game | | Item Weight | 0.47 Kilograms | | Language | English | | Manufacturer | Libellud | | Manufacturer Part Number | MYST03 | | Manufacturer Recommended Age | 10 years and up | | Material Type | Paper | | Minimum Age Recomendation | 120 | | Model Number | MYST03 | | Number Of Items | 1 | | Number Of Packs | 1 | | Number Of Players | 2 to 7 Players | | Operation Mode | manual | | Power Source | No power source required | | Rulebook Availability | Printed Included | | Set Name | Mysterium | | Size | 27.5 x 11.8 x 4.0 cm | | Special Features | 18 Story Cards and 42 Additional Vision Cards | | Sub Brand | Mysterium | | Subject Character | Ghost | | Supported Battery Types | No batteries required | | Theme | Mystery | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Asmodee - **Genre:** Mystery - **Material:** Paper - **Number of players:** 2 to 7 Players - **Theme:** Mystery ## Images ![Asmodee Libellud, Mysterium Secrets and Lies Board Game Expansion - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71+JWs8ouoL.jpg) ![Asmodee Libellud, Mysterium Secrets and Lies Board Game Expansion - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81qf8i7tQ4L.jpg) ![Asmodee Libellud, Mysterium Secrets and Lies Board Game Expansion - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71nd7F0iQYL.jpg) ![Asmodee Libellud, Mysterium Secrets and Lies Board Game Expansion - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/814vEEmTU8L.jpg) ![Asmodee Libellud, Mysterium Secrets and Lies Board Game Expansion - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81EjTrVOvXL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size Name** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: we already have the game why do we have to purchase two of this expansion pack (minimum purchase requirement of 2)? Doesn't make sense?!?!** A: To buy this expansion, currently, you have to buy 2 (minimum purchase requirement of 2 items). I think this must be wrong and the seller needs to correct this. **Q: Can you play this without the other extension pack?** A: Heya, yes is the short answer. The extension packs mainly build up your suspects, rooms and murder weapons. One of the extension packs introduces a new type of card but you would substitute the new card type for the weapon cards. But either way having one extension and not the other will not affect if you can play the game :) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice expansion to Mysterium:) *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 28 January 2025* It's a very good sequel for the Mysterium board game. I really recommend it;) ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Essential Expansion *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 25 October 2019* If you own and love Mysterium, this is a must have expansion, even if you don't have the first one (Hidden Signs). The addition of the story/motive cards are welcome as they add a further challenge to this wonderful game. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ A good expansion that adds variety for regular Mysterium players *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 11 March 2026* I picked up Secrets & Lies as an expansion to the base Mysterium game, which we’ve played regularly with friends. What I like:Adds new vision cards that feel distinct and slightly more abstractNew story cards increase variety and replayability without changing the core rulesIntegrates seamlessly with the base game — no complicated setupArtwork quality matches the original game and maintains the atmosphereThings to be aware of:You’ll need to be familiar with the base game for this to shineSome of the new cards are more challenging to interpret, which may not suit newer playersDoesn’t dramatically change gameplay, more of an evolution than a reinventionAfter several plays, this expansion does a good job of refreshing the experience, especially if you’ve played the original scenarios multiple times. It adds depth and variety without slowing the game down, which is exactly what I’d want from an expansion.Overall, this is a solid addition for fans of Mysterium who want more content and a slightly higher challenge level. I’ve rated it 4 stars as it builds nicely on the base game, but it’s best suited to groups already comfortable with the original. ## Frequently Bought Together - Mysterium Secrets & Lies Board Game EXPANSION - Unravel New Mysteries in the Beloved Cooperative Game!
