All 22 episodes from the seventh season of the US drama series following a family of New York cops headed by Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck). As well as the head of the family, Frank is the New York City Police Commissioner, following in the footsteps of his father, Henry (Len Cariou). Frank's children also share his passion for law and order: Danny (Donnie Wahlberg) is an NYC detective, Erin (Bridget Moynahan) works in the District Attorney's office and Frank's youngest son Jamie (Will Estes) works undercover. In this season, Danny is shocked when new evidence is brought against him in his self-defence shooting case and Frank is forced to deal with a whistle-blower in the NYPD. The episodes are: 'The Greater Good', 'Good Cop Bad Cop', 'The Price of Justice', 'Mob Rules', 'For the Community', 'Whistleblowers', 'Guilt by Association', 'Personal Business', 'Confessions', 'Unbearable Loss', 'Genetics', 'Not Fade Away', 'The One That Got Away', 'In and Out', 'Lost Souls', 'Hard Bargain', 'Shadow of a Doubt', 'A Deep Blue Goodbye', 'Love Lost', 'No Retreat No Surrender', 'Foreign Interference' and 'The Thin Blue Line'. Review: ALL ON FINE FORM WITH MUCH TO THINK ABOUT - Another impressive season as the law-connected members of New York's Catholic Reagan family face troubling challenges - as ever, so much to discuss at their Sunday dinner reunions. How much longer can Commissioner Frank keep his job - devious politicians he stands up to anxious he be replaced? Meanwhile, although well over thirty thousand men under his command, he seems held responsible for any bent cop or any member of the force's split second error of judgment when on duty. His somewhat volatile son, detective Danny, has much to contend with - not least being under investigation for shooting dead an unarmed serial killer. Did sister, the DA office's Erin, cause the wrong man to be jailed ten years earlier? Does brother Jamie become unwisely involved with some of the problems of people he encounters on patrol? Yes, much for them to discuss and for viewers to think about. Allegations of racism in the force is a major concern. What, though, if black communities house the most lawbreakers? Under the spotlight are neighbourhoods intimidated by teen gangs, shopkeepers at the mercy of protection racketeers. What about highly organized drug cartels? So much to consider. Included? The sanctity of confession made to a priest. Age discrimination in the force. Assisted suicide. A man claiming diplomatic immunity, his little boy a mass of bruises. No way can all these issues be satisfactorily settled, but some of them are dealt with in ways that uplift. Fine scripts. Great cast in its element. Good to see too increasing involvement of certain members like Frank's aides Gareth and Sid, the DA's Anthony. Powerful fare with much to disturb or to hearten. Very much at the show's centre remain the Reagans. Differences may abound but all concerned are strengthened by their faith and family loyalty. 22 episodes. Bonuses include deleted scenes, cast reactions to issues raised and how their characters are developing. Season 7 contains the show's 150th episode, celebrations justified that the series is still going strong with ratings so high. Review: Excellent series - Excellent series. Very binge watching.

Still brilliant but more emotional
I watched this series immediately following on from series six. The format is still there but there is more emotion. Emotion in the stories which pulls at the heart strings and also in the lives of the regular actors. Some of this emotion is very hard and cruel - people are not as polite or as helpful as they might be and I found the story about the Russians particularly distasteful. However all the stories have been carefully worked out to show a complete range within the series and the last story - which is a tough one - ends up with a very sincere bonding of the family round the dinner table ending the series on a positive note. With all this the acting is still very complete - the production standards as good as ever. It was nice to see Tom Selleck doing more location work, appearing in far more places than in previous series. The amazing Stacey Keach gives a wonderful performance - of course. His scenes with Tom Selleck set in a huge cathedral are superb. Yes, this series is the same but the Reagan's lives are changing as the world they live in is changing. Once again - absolutely excellent.
