Read this review, happy with it.
So surprised by this lovely DAB+ and FM portable radio. I bought it because its made by Roberts who are reliable and have good quality stuff. Good value. Great to use, can use the AC Adapter posted with the box and they include instructions too. You can use batteries if you want to take it outside. It has 3 presets for DAB and 3 presets for FM. The reception is surprisingly good on FM too, but it must depend on where you are of course. Functions well for me. Buttons are nice and easy to use. Overall, a contented customer and what do you expect from ROBERTS!

GREAT RADIO WITH LOVELY SOUND
My DAB radio that I inherited from my mum and must be at least 20 years old, finally gave up the ghost and stopped being able to receive some stations, ie Mellow Magic. But this little beauty is really easy to tune and has a lovely sound. I am really pleased with it and couldn't recommend it highly enough.

GOOD ROBUST & WELL-DESIGNED PORTABLE RADIO - BUT NOTE: ONLY MONO EVEN WITH HEADPHONE LISTENING
I found this ROBERTS portable radio to be generally very well designed and also robustly made. The basic controls are simple to use and large enough for all finger-sizes and abilities. The instructions are very clear and easy to read, and I found that for a small portable radio both music and speech were more than amply clear .There is a simple menu button for switching between DAB & FM, and I found the quality of sound of both formats crystal clear. The menu button can also be used to further optimise sound quality of various stations .Tuning through the numerous various stations is very easily performed by turning a fairly large knob, and the radio's visual panel then displays which station is being aired in ample-sized lettering.Up to 3 DAB channels and also up to 3 FM channels can then be simply preset for instant access at the touch of an individual button. In brief, this ROBERTS portable radio has been generally well thought-out and designed for remarkably simple operation, and so would equally be suitable for persons of 'maturer' years who may well find the operation and small button-sizes of other similary priced portable DAB/FM radios more difficult for those who may be less dextrous. However, there are inevitably some drawbacks in this fairly budget-priced radio. For instance, the information on the easily-read screen is limited basically to displaying the name of the station tuned.Others will know that many other even cheaper DAB radios display such information as the names of artists and also details of music tracks being played etc. Also, if using this as a personal radio to listen through headphones/earphones, the listener will soon realise that the sound is purely mono. After so many deacades listening to the spread of stereo sound, some may find it distinctly uncomfortabe listening for any length of time to find the sound seemingly coming from a mere pinpoint in the centre of the head. There are some other portable radios of comparative price on the Amazon site which are of metal/wood construction and which have twin speakers, which Amazon customers review as having ample stereo sound. For some 'maturer' listeners, although there is an attached hand-strap for carrying from the wrist, the weight of this ROBERTS radio is rather heavier than smaller models -especially when optional batteries have been inserted. However, in comparison with smaller, lighter models, these possible deficits are far outweighed by the benefits of the ease of operation of this ROBERTS model -and especially the comparitively larger button sizes. In summary, this retro-looking ROBERTS portable radio should prove more than satisfying in providing easily accessed enjoyable listening at a very reasonable price.

Good all Round DAB radio
Purchased this Roberts DAB to replace an old DAB radio. I chose the matt black version with the silver dials/buttons, but what attracted me to this radio was access to FM as well as the digital channels. The radio has a pleasant light blue LCD display with a brief description of the channels on it. The aerial extends to approximately 40cm and I found I could get a good reception almost anywhere in the house. The sound quality is good for its size. The radio when first turned on auto-tunes itself to all DAB / FM channels local to you, which is most helpful. There are 3 push button channels (favourites) that can be programmed with your most use radio stations. Changing radio stations is easy via the big chrome dial alphabetically. Before the radio arrived, I download the user guide (some 23 pages) from under the headings “Product guides and documents” below the radio’s description. The radio comes with the same instructions. I would advise you read the instructions.Having read the reviews, I noted they seem to suggest it used up batteries fairly quickly. So I thought I may have to purchase an ac adapter, but mine came with a power lead. If yours does not, you can purchase 5V power supply adaptor which is compatible with the Roberts radio made by Myvolts also from amazon.Overall, this radio is of good quality and easy to listen to.

Surprisingly excellent sound and ease of use.
I took particular care in choosing this item as my previous attempt resulted in the disappointment of returning an inept and poorly made Chinese product. This time I was not disappointed but very pleasantly surprised by the great sound that comes out of a small radio and by the simplicity of use.An excellent product by a highly capable British company at a very reasonable price with a great performance.

Good to see Roberts back on form
I think this radio has tremendous value for money. Bought it for my elderly father whilst he was in hospital, and he immediately took to it without needing the manual. It seems well built and laid out. Managed to get decent reception on FM and DAB where a smaller radio that used the headphones for an ariel struggled. Don't expect loud bassy sound from the speaker, but it's clear and does the job. Sounds even better with good headphones.Takes 4x AA batteries, or you can used the supplied mains adaptor.Although we didn't need it, the manual is well written and easy to understand. Font size better than most but still could with being a little larger.

Great looking and easy to use. Little tinny on sound.
Not brilliant on sound, little tinny and not much bass. Let's the radio down in my opinion.Other than that, stylish, lightweight, durable and good on battery.Sorry... only 3 star!
