Silverline Hose Reel 45m Capacity (547900), Green

Seen some reviews which suggested this wasn't all that great. I wanted a reel to tidy up the garden hose, and didn't want to spend a fortune on a fancy one, so opted for this. Whilst the plastic doesn't feel the most sturdy, it's well above what I expected from it. I originally wasn't planning on hooking it up to the hose directly, and just wanted it as a hose storage holder, but had a spare 2m of hose and a couple of connectors and ended up hooking it up properly. No leaks, no hassle. If you want a cheap option, and don't need anything fancy, this is ideal.

Great value for money & light weight saves on carriage. Plastic pins were a little tricky to insert, so need to check visually that holes lined up accurately. Think instructions should make it clear that these pins click when fully inserted. Rotating union was initially very stiff & despite using good quality reinforced hose, kinking occurred at first few attempts to reel in hose. Needed to be worked several times to free it up. Think it should be made clear that good quality reinfoeced hose shuoudl be used. That said, once these minor issues were resolved, the product fulfills expectations.

It is what it is, I needed something cheap in a pinch to tidy the hose off the ground and bought this! It was a cheap alternative to all the other more expensive products! It takes effort to roll the hose on and off the reel, if I use the handle I’m afraid the whole thing will fall apart- so I don’t use it I turn the wheel manually! But when the full 30m of hose is on the reel it’s gets very heavy and harder to turn making it fall over (so use your foot to hold it down). For now it’s manageable- but will prob more than likely have to upgrade to a better more user friendly reel at some point! I will likely use this until it (or I) completely snaps (that’s just what I do)! Overall, grand and cheap in a pinch, but would prob chose to buy a better one if I was starting again!

Wife uses it for her jelly roll crochet (wife’s will know what that is!) well pleased with it

One of the worst products I have ever bought. It comes flat packed and you have to piece it all together which reminded me of my youth with airfix models Once constructed it did not turn freely and had a tough spot. Once the hose was on, due to the tough spot it required two people to unwind the hose, one to hold the hose reel and one to pull the hose. If I didn’t do this then the hose reel would follow me!!! After 2 uses the handle started to wobble loose and I had to push it back in. Yesterday it toppled over and snapped the plastic handle. I am now looking for a decent replacement. Don’t waste your time nor effort on this awful product which has the quality of a toy from Christmas cracker!!! For £13, as to why this has some 1 star ratings, I'll never know. Setup: This was really easy to set up. Just make sure not to get the top handle mistaken and put it on the bottom. I done that, put the screws in and can't get it out. It isn't a big deal. This holds my 40M 1/2" hose perfectly well. It was easy to reel up. It doesn't seem like it is struggling to keep it up. If you want your hose to be organised, purchase this. It's brilliant for the price. I've had no issues with it. Happy with my purchase.

Not a great product unfortunately, however it was quite easy to put together. I guess you get what you pay for.

This hose reel is incredible value for money when compared to other makes such as Hozelock. I've not used this for a hosepipe but for the mains hook up cable which supplies electricity for our caravan. Admittedly, I've cut off the hose adaptor to allow the cable to feed through. The item isn't the most sturdy and other brands like Hozelock feel stronger but you will have to pay a lot more money for one of those. If I ever need a reel for a hosepipe, I'd purchase another one of these without a doubt. I'm expecting the small green plugs which are used to attached the handles to need replacing as I believe a nut and bolt would do a better job.

There are some small plastic pins that you use to assemble the product. Since not everything is really straight 2 of this weak pins broke during assembling. I fixed it with some ty-rips. To roll upp a 40m hose is possible but also here the spool is not that stable, that you want to do that every day...

Beim Zusammenbau einmal etwas falsch zusammen gesteckt, jetzt ist es unmöglich die zusammengefügten Teile zu trennen, d.h. ich kann im Grunde die Trommel nur noch wegwerfen. Also miserabel !!!!! Mfg. P. Klein
