Soundasleep the Original Speaker Pillow

I bought this as my partner has been using a pair of large headphones to listen to soothing music in order to help get off to sleep. The headphones were quite bulky - tried using the ones that fit into the ear but these were uncomfortable too. I then cam across this Soundasleep pillow and for the discounted price of under £12, I though, hey! why not give it a go!? The product arrived within a couple of days and I couldn't be happier with it! The pillow is a standard size and is very comfortable. The speaker is contained within the pillow as described but you cannot feel it when you lay your head on it, and even with the music turned right down, you can still hear it, enabling you to listen whilst your partner cannot.It comes with everything you need to simply plug into a music source standard jack (3.5?) - ie on the top of your smart phone or into your clock radio.I will definitely be buying another one!

I was just talking about this to a friend and then I realised that I bought this pillow back in December 2012. I have had this pillow for two and a half years, I have used it near enough every day and it is still in great condition! The only problem is that you have to reshape the cushioning inside every so often, but I'm sure you can expect that.Great product, decent comfort (I sleep with a pillow underneath it though) very durable and good sound too!- a few reviewers are complaining that they can hear the music from the pillow. They forget that this is an output system and they are sitting in a quick room.Nonetheless; it's an amazing product for the price you pay! If you struggle to sleep like I do, this product helps!

I bought this pillow so I didn't disturb my husband when listening to my radio late at night. Unfortunately, as soon as I had switched it, on he said he could hear it easily which wasn't the point of buying it! Now I think my other half has the hearing of a bat, but I don't hear as well out of my left ear as I do my right, but I don't find lying on my right side very easy. Problem is, that when I lay on my left side, I have to have the volume slightly louder, but he says he can hear everything and has resorted to putting his earplugs back in!! I also couldn't hear my Paul Mckenna cd at all out of my good ear as his deep voice doesn't come through very clearly. I would advise that if you want this pillow you check you can hear well out of both ears and don't use it for hypnosis cds because I don't think you'll hear them well enough. All in all though it's a good idea but I think they could improve on the speaker. Lorraine

What a great product. It's a very soft pillow - I want to highlight this immediately as not everyone is a fan of a soft pillow. I sleep on my tummy so a soft pillow suits me fine, but if you sleep on your side or back then you would benefit from a firmer pillow. That's my only criticism of this product and why it's getting only 4 stars. If they had a selection of soft, medium & firm then the 5 stars would be a no-brainer.The speakers inside this thing are very basic - don't expect any appreciative bass or stunning vocal clarity. It's a flat sound you get but this is what you want in a product like this, so although it may look bad on paper, it actually isn't. I have no idea how it produces the sound but touch and prod the pillow as much as you want, but you cannot feel anything hard inside it. This was my main worry before buying it "Won't I feel a speaker inside this thing?" - but try as you may, the pillow is soft throughout... no hard speakers anywhere to be felt.I plug it into my iPhone each night and there's this one MP3 that I play on it. It's an 8minute sound clip of rain and thunder. I play this on infinite loop and set my iPhone to turn the audio off after 20-30min. If you don't set a timer and just have something play during your entire sleep then you could wake up with a headache or feeling rather grubby as I've made the mistake a few times. There are also loads of apps on the iPhone and Android that are designed to be played for 4+ hours - it pumps out soundwaves that apparently put your brain at rest, and if you believe the marketing, a 4 hour sleep with this equates to an 8 hour sleep without. I cannot vouch for the claims but i've tried it myself with this pillow and I do generally feel a bit more rested when I wake up in the morning.Bottom line is it's a good product and it's helping me get a better sleep every night, but I just wished they offered different selections of pillows such as medium or firm.

Bought this for my hubby as he had broken the wire on his old pillow, I particularly like this one as the wire from the speaker can be removed when not in use and you can barely feel the speaker in the pillow nor does the speaker move around. The quality of the pillow is very good although it is a little on the soft side (hubby likes a firm pillow) but on saying that it is the ideal way to listen to talking books/music/radio without disturbing anyone else in the bedroom. I would certainly recommend this to others, there are cheaper makes on the market but this is by far the best I have seen.

i did need the pillow and i read all customer review i did read lots good about this pillow so i said lets go order 2 and after is arrive i am just opened the box and its "sound pillow"i said what?-delivery mistake or its me so i went to watch what i ordered and i order this pillow but i try on the same night and its absolut GOOD,COOL i didnt dissapointed i did a misstake :) i am so happy.this pillw is confi all the time when i woken up the pillow is the same,very comfi to sleep on it i do other 2 soon :) .Realy nice to lisstening music with out u disturb your partner :) its realy cool and u can not feel the speaker in it(just make sure u dont wash it :) )
