thank you for my Item i will so enjoy this DVD a lot I have to say i saw Hairspray When Michael Ball did i it in Plymouth and he was brillent and i have to say when i saw this Version over Christmas last year i so enjoyed it a lot and i think the person who did Enda was Fantastic and the cast to so i am so pleased that i went for this Item and i will watch this DVD over and over agian and i like to recamde this Item to all Customs this DVD is so worth having and to buy and thank you for your Excellent serivce to and i hope all customers will so enjoy this item.

Great upbeat performance!
I opted for this version of Hairspray as I wanted something more akin to a live performance than a film..... It certainly didn't disappoint! Another poster mentioned 'Technical Issues', but while the audio mixing isn't always perfect, you wouldn't expect it to be on a complex production like this.... It didn't detract from my enjoyment! I wasn't sure what to expect from Ariana Grande as Penny, but was extremely pleasantly surprised; she plays it AS Penny Pingleton rather than herself as Penny (If you see what I mean, if she'd have played up to her pop star status or overdone the vocal performances the role would have lost its endearing innocence).

Like Hairspray the Musical? watch this version, it’s also great
Downloaded a live version of Hairspray as love the musical film so wanted to see a staged production. i was surprised to see it was filmed on a studio set, i was expecting it to have been recorded from a staged theatre production. it was brilliant. great cast & scenes. it looked like a film. Jennifer’s rendition of the song at the end was unbelievable, what a singer!

Stick to the movie
Ok, the reason for the two stars rather than one star, is because there are some good things in this - Maddie Baiillio as Tracy, Ariana Grande as Penny, Dove Cameron as Amber, the songs are (of course) fabulous, the costumes, and the choreography - but the rest is pretty dire. The movie is so much better.

One of my all time favourite musicals and this NEW version doesn't let it down
Great modern adaptation of one of my favourite feel good musicals, great cast , great songs , very colourful and timeless . This is the next best thing to seeing the touring show on stage
