Greatest Pallet Busting Tool Ever!!!
This tool is awesome, it is by far the best purchase I have made from Amazon in the last 5 years. Is it simple? Yes. Does it wreck pallets? Yes. That's the greatest thing about it, It's called a pallet buster not 'Pallet reclamation tool for yuppy folk art'.I live way out in bush Alaska 7 miles off the northern most point of the Bering Sea. It's cold as hell here, and there isn't a damn tree around for 100 miles. This kinda puts a damper on the joys of owning a wood stove. I used to spend hours with a sawsall in hand vibrating the fillings from my teeth. Finally, one day, when I was down to my my last little foil finder, I found this on Amazon. When it arrived (free shipping, thank you prime), I looked at it and said "What a piece of $4!+". it looked chinsy as all get out. So it sat in the corner getting dirty looks for two weeks.Tonight I finally got the courage up to confront my fear of making a purchase while ignoring all the negative reviews. I made short work out of seven pallets without even breaking a sweat. This thing is AMAZING! and it is sooooo simple.I just read a review from some lady saying she bought this for her husband to reclaim wood from pallets to stick together with a glue stick or something and sell at a craft fair.... Lady, unless you have MS there is no reason you can't be using this yourself*. This thing practically rips the pallets itself. I got to a point where I had to tell my little SKB-7 "Whooooaaaaa buddy, slow down before we run out of excuses to be in the garage drinking beer!".Now, if you are the kinda sissy that wants to save the Brazilian Rosewood from being turned into knick knacks sold at the farmers market, maybe you should go purchase your wood from a reputable wood seller that uses minimum impact logging techniques and fertilizes the forest with dream catchers and love.But... If you are a man, and I mean a real man, the kind that grows a beard not because it is fashionable, but because that hundred year old bow saw you use to shave with just doesn't get close enough to the skin for ya. The kinda of man that will jump out the bathroom window just to pee outside... yeah, that kinda man, and you want to BUST some pallets... this is the tool for you. This tool does its job, and it does it well. I would highly recommend it for anyone in the market for a tool marketed and built to BUST PALLETS.*p.s.For all you little artist out there, soak your pallets in water or just keep em damp with a sprinkler for a few days and they will fall apart nicely when approached with any tool.

Doesn't work well
poor construction, tines are too short and splits the boards, slots that are supposed to pull the nails are not effective

Great for Crushing,Bad for Keeper Wood.
If you want to use the pallet wood buy the next step up from this model. This Pallet Buster totally breaks up the usable wood. Spend 20 bucks more and get the big blue one if you want project wood. I am surprised Amazon does't off this better model.Global sales does and that is where I got mine. If you just want to crush the wood this is what you want.

better and cheaper
tool will break pallets apart, but if you want to reclaim the wood...forget it..made of cheap casting with a loosely fitting light weight tube for a handle. have a tool fabricated at a local shop...better and cheaper..research you tube and pallet disassembly

works fine for breaking up pallets.
Works fine for breaking up pallets for firewood, if you looking to remove fully intact boards with no crack or breaks that's probably not going to happen but that because most pallets are already cracked and not so much due to the tool itself. The tool does make it possible to tear down a pallet quite easily in less than 5 minutes and while standing up straight so much better for your back.

Perfect for the DIY’er
Bought this to strip the decking on my back deck. It’s was the lowest priced unit that didn’t look like it belonged to a Snowflake. It’s has a little rattle when you shake it as the head is diecast steel and heavy. That’s my only complaint which is irrelevant to its function, so in short, this thing ROCKS or rips, breaks, strips, pulls nails, pulls screws, etc. it’s awesome for the money. I highly recommend it for the DIY user.

This may not preserve pallet wood for reuse like others are complaining about
This product does exactly what I needed it to do. I am ripping up an old floor. A hammer and crowbar take forever. This may not preserve pallet wood for reuse like others are complaining about, but then again it is called a pallet buster, not a pallet saver. I was concerned that it would not be strong enough to pull up the floor boards, but it has not failed me yet. It is well built for the price and the leverage of the handle even allows my wife to pull boards with ease. I drove around to all the big box stores looking for a tool like this and failed miserably. Just order it from Amazon and in a day or two you will be saving many hours of hand hitting labor.
