Tefal Actifry Express XL Family 1.5Kg Frying Basket/Chip Tray Mesh Snacking Grid

The item is exactly as described.A stainless steel mesh that inserts in to the centre of bowl when the paddle is removed. The stainless mesh to which food stuff can adhere to is easily cleaned in hot soapy water.I have tried cooking scampi and chips and after first allowing chips to cook for 8minutes with paddle in place, I then removed paddle and added the basket loaded with scampi. Started the cooking cycle and observed the basket rotating nicely whilst chips remained static in the bottom of the main bowl. Both food items cooked ok and results are very pleasing.The basket does have a height limit, hence the name for it being ’snack basket’ but it does serve a purpose as scampi is not damaged and evenly cooked with a nice crispy crunch. I’m getting hungry again just writing about this. Crispy onion rings should be a doddle from now on using this method to cook them.I would have liked the basket to be a little deeper but I guess those people at Tefal have their reasons for designing it the way it is.It does reduce the space in the bowl below, however, I reckon it is still capable of cooking four servings of scampi and chips at a time.I am starting to like this method of air fryer cooking as it is so much quicker and repeatedly produces really crispy, crunchy, tasty results every time.

after having read a few reviews i took a gamble, One review said This did not fit the Genius XL!?I Can Confirm this product fits the model number AH960040 With the handle.Downside: For the RRP that is asked for its higher end XL models, It should of been included and not an optional extra, and the price of this item i feel is over priced, your paying for the brand name, I also feel this item is essential to the Airfryer as though it should of been with it, this feels like a company ploy to relieve you of more money, its a bit like a car manufacturer selling a car at RRP and then you have to buy the steering wheel as an optional extra but its really essential piece of equipment in the guise of an optional extra just to relieve you of more dosh!Feels Cheaply made.It cant be used with the Paddle attachment.GoodSide: It fits the Genius XL AH960040 contrary to some reviews (bitter for paying the extra?), Its comes with a crown attachment for other models and it turns as like with the paddle attachment.Handle fits in with the airfryer, no need to attach and re attach.

This was exactly what I wanted - well made, well packaged and delivered quickly too. Will make my Actifry much more useful!

I HAVE BEEN USING Tefal Actifry Genius XL 1.L Litres model AH960840, Series 040, for 2-3 years. It is good product but without frying basket / snacking mesh tray, it is of limited use. There was no clear information on Amazon or elsewhere which mesh basket to buy. At last, I took courage to buy this "Tefal Actifry Express XL Family 1.5Kg Frying Basket/Chip Tray Mesh Snacking Grid". Arrived today, fits nicely, looking for to strat using this. on Tefal.co.uk, website this accesory product is listed as; Actifry Snacking grid XA701270. But on Amazon site model number for this is listed as; 65-TF-54.

It’s very easy to use, however it’s small but compact and works very well. I love it

Contrary to other reviews, this does fit my actifry. If it was a bit too tall, if other model numbers may differ a bit, it would be very easy to just cut a small bit off the top of the handle. However the splines that it sits on are not quite a perfect fit although it does still work although a bit loose. It is a bit messy to clean, have to use a brush but it does do the job and is a very useful way of cooking without a lot of fuss and hard work. It's a pity it sits a bit loosely but I would still certainly recommend it.

Had to cut a small part of too handle off to let it fit in my actifry genius xl, doesn’t seem to be one to fit it. The grid goes round when paddle is replaced and is very useful. Great for fillet steak, bacon chops, lamb chops - anything that you don’t want to be sitting in fat. Great for slimming world as any fat drops out into the bottom and I put chips below for my husband (not on a diet) as the fat drops onto them and makes them lovely he says. Just lift the grid out to give anything below a turn. I did a jacket potato below a steak (fat cut off) and it was perfect. Also used large mushrooms with a little stilton in them, cooked on the grid for 10 - 12 minutes they were lovely, full of flavour and so easy to do.

I was really pleased to see that this accessory was available for the Actifry as I wanted to cook breadcrumbed items. However, as other buyers have reported, the handle is too high. I can just about force the lid closed but am worried it will damage the catch. I am going to see if I can file down the plastic.Update 14 Jan 2020: I have been in touch with Tefal about this. They have admitted that there is an error in information about which actifry machines this will fit. It doesn't fit mine!
