Grandpa's, Wonder Pine Tar Soap, 3.25 oz (92 g)

I bought this for a friend who wanted to use it on his beard.From what he has said you can't use normal soap or shampoo on beards as it takes all the natural oils out and dry out the beard.When he opened the packaging the smell at first was very strong and 'earthy' but we soon got used to it and actually quite liked it.After a month of using it he said that it was working fine and he really enjoyed the smell of the natural ingredients.From what he has said you can also use this on any hair and due to the natural ingredients doesn't harm your hair like normal shampoo would with the added chemicals.From my friend, he gave this 5 out of 5.

My first purchase received 6 soapsMy second purchase received just 1 soap for the same price.From seeing the other reviews that seems to be this seller's unit price now£16 for a single bar of soap is outrageous! - I've consequently changed my review to 1 starDefinitely NOT value for money!Marketing has conditioned us to expect 'nature' scented flowery fragrances and all sorts of synthetic perfumes have been designed to draw us to these products.This is based on a more traditional Pine Tar recipe. The scent is quite startling at first and I honestly believed that I would be left smelling as if I'd slept in a pile of tyres.As it turns out the soap is perfectly effective as a body wash, shampoo and shaving soap and consequently it is the only product I use in my minimalist bathroom.The powerful aroma quickly fades; it mellows into a mildly piney scent which I find pleasant. Indeed I wish it persisted a little longer. At least it doesn't 'stink up' the bathroom after a shower or leave me smelling like a bouquet of flowers like most commercially popular brands.I think your old style soap's great Grandpa; Please don't pander to popular taste - don't change a thing!

love, love these soaps - for the past few years my husband has been getting a rash on his back during the summer months - we live in a hot country and his profession is a gardener. The Docs have said it's a fungus that comes with the humidity and being amongst the plants. Don't like him taking tablets or putting anti-biotic cream on his back all the time so thought we would give this a try and so glad we have. He hasn't had the problem this year and the only thing he has been doing differently is using this soap. It has the added bonus of making the skin really soft - I use it too as I sometimes get prickly heat and liked how soft my skin felt. There is a fragrance whilst using this soap, I don't find it offence just a clean smell but that doesn't linger after drying. Really pleased

This soap really works well. Use it regularly and rinse it off properly.It’s a strange sort of soap, it’s like a solid liquid soap, so you can use it as shampoo as well as on your skin. If used as a shampoo, ‘shampoo’ twice, and rinse it off fully for squeaky clean hair. One thing more thing and it’s important is: don’t leave it in a puddle of water, it will liquify it.Other than that it’s great - it got rid of eczema I had for 30 years.

Has a pleasant piney wood smoke smell, lathers up and cleans well, leaves skin feeling soft and smooth. No noticeable effect on my Psoriasis, This is not unusual as often with Psoriasis what works for one person does not for another.

Bought soap with a picture of 6 bars for£10. Received 1 bar could have bought a bar with a picture of 1 bar for £7 misleading advertising.

I bought this mainly to help with dry flaky skin, but also because I wanted something that smelled less feminine than the usual shop bought soaps. we men do not seem to be catered for in the shops when it comes to soaps and shower gels. anyway I digress well it's too early to tell if it will help my dry skin, it is a product I will definitely be buying again. it leaves my skin feeling very clean and smooth, it lathers up like nothing I've ever used before, and it smells fantastic. the smell is not overpowering as some have said nor does it smell like pine, it has a kind of earthy almost leathery odor, or maybe that's just my nose playing tricks.

I bought this for my 5 month pregnant daughter who is suffering from PEPS. The very itchy, nettle like rash symptom that appears all over the body and is a very stressful condition as the itiching drove her mad at night and she never slept. Her midwife and consultant recommended Calomine lotion but to no effect. Infact, it made things worse as the Calomine lotion made her skin feel tight.After much research, we found Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap. The reviews were great for pregnant mums with PEPS so we had to buy it and what a relief it was too! - After her first bath using it, the itching had stopped and she got her first good nights sleep. The smell is not great but what the heck! - she has been using it now for 2 weeks every night and is so much happier.I'm surprised our own Drs and Nurses are not recommending this product. Mums to be, spead the word so other pregnant mums who may be unfortunate to have the condition can also benefit.

It's not pack of 6, it's just single one bar.Be careful before you guys make the order.

Soap is very smell at first . I recommend putting the bar outside for a few days to allow bar to 'dry off'. This might be especially important if your living with other people. A revolt my take place ! After I used the first bar for a week , the smell fads substantially , so its still unsweet, but not pungently so . But initially it might make you reach.

i buy lots and lots on amazon. I bought this soap before and was quite satisfied with it... but not enough to pay 25$ for 1 soap bar, that's nuts!I bought too much on amazon and I didn't read carefully, but the presenting pictures shows 6 soap bars, which was arguably too cheap now that I think about it.I tried this soap before and paid like 7$-8$ for it, which was decent enough, which is why I don't rate it 1 star. So anyway, no way I'll pay that much, so I'll return it, even though I end up paying probably 15$ for the return shipping.

I wanted a good cleansing, mild soap to use during the hot and humid days of summer, and one without multiple sweet smelling scents, and so this pine tar soap fit the bill. It was perfect! The bar itself lathers quickly, and is smooth in texture. Also, it reminds me of caramel, my favorite candy. Will definitely purchase again!
