Decent brass thread, nice price. WATCH OUT FOR INLET DUST COVER INSIDE! Add spanner, PTFE tape, sealant and don't go overboard.
Perfect, especially for the price. Brass fitting is much easier rather than my existing nylon one. The fill is nearly silent, with a semi-quiet 'donk' at when closing. Instructions were brief, but it's pretty easy to figure out how to use it. The adjustableness is a bit fiddly once in, but as there's a lot to adjust, it's really quite easy to get the level right too.Had no problems at all, I'm a total amateur and had it fitted in 20 mins. I recommend PTFE tape, and some sort of sealant, I had some LS-X hanging around.UPDATE: I've fitted two of these now (limescale problems), and they've both been brilliant. I managed to break one by tightening it up too much (no need to!) and not holding onto it, which snapped the arm to the basket. My own fault for trying to do it alone. I also had a bit of trouble with getting the water to cut off smoothly, but a washer/weight on top of the bucket solved it perfectly for me. Probably could've adjusted it, but a washer and silicon was more easily to hand :)Two warnings (Note: I am *not* a plumber!!):1. Hold onto it as you tighten it up, so it doesn't get trapped against the cistern side. You don't have to over-tighten, don't squash the rubber too much - just nip it enough to stop water leaking out the cistern. A bit of sealant might be a good idea.2. As other have said, watch out for the insert that blocks/covers the inlet hole! There's a small cone of clear plastic inside. Stick your finger in the brass hole and pull it out before you connect up. Otherwise you will have trouble...

Beware the internal filter 'basket' - but otherwise OK
Bought this to replace a 12+year old filler valve that refused to switch off. What should have been a simple 30min job actually turned into a 1.5 hour nightmare simply due to the fact that the instructions fail to point out that there's a plastic filter 'basket' that comes pre-fitted inside the brass end connector - presumably to stop any crud from entering the mechanism from the water inlet pipe. The problem is that this filter basket actually prevents the smaller diameter inlet copper pipe from pushing inside the brass threaded connector far enough- so I coudn't get the nut to 'bite' with the brass thread. Much head-scratching, comparing with another 1/2" nut I had, re-fitting the old (broken) filler valve just to prove I wasn't going completely mad - only after about an our of total frustration and nearly getting to the point of calling a plumber out(!) did I eventually find the plastic filter fitted inside the threaded brass pipe. When I removed that I managed to connect the inlet pipe no problem. I guess the filter basket is there for a purpose, however with it inserted I couldn't connect to existing inlet pipe. Just thought I'd point this out in the hope that someone else avoids the same level of frustration.Once fitted - it seems to work fine. Adjusting the height and water level is pretty straight forward - just follow the instructions and use a bit of common sense. Filling is pretty quiet - certainly quieter than the old one. Just bear in mind the plastic filter basket that's inserted into the end of the threaded brass connector since this might cause problems with connecting to existing pipework.

Good quality, simple to fit
Used to replace old ball cock fill valve. Old valve was a bit of a nightmare lots of sealant bunging up the hole in the cistern. Could not remove all old sealant as was worried new valve would not seal but quality materials on this fitted well and sealed perfectly. No need to remove filter basket like some other reviewers , guess it depends on the distance between bottom of valve and inlet supply. Quiet and fast operation. Good tip is to measure water level before removing old valve and set valve height up before final fit. Seems excellent quality for the money. Fitted in 30 minutes but most of that was removing old valve and cleaning up sealant. Fitting new valve and getting it working and checking took 5 minutes.

The media could not be loaded.
