Review: Huge Improvement with this LNB - Used this to replace the LNB on my Satellite dish for Sky TV. From what I could tell I could receive Freesat channels with about 95% signal strength and quality, but sky channels would only work at about 50% signal strength and quality for for about 10 minutes after turning the sky box off and on. I had an old Thompson mini dish with quad LNB which came with the very early sky HD installations about 12/13 years ago. I tried to fit the new LNB the intended way, by taking the plastic adaptor off the old dish. But the new plastic adaptor would not fit to the rectangular metal support on the dish. The old LNB had the skew 1 to 5 markings and the new one has angles on. So I tried the old plastic adaptor with the new LNB. This worked without any realignment needed, but I did a few things which probably helped as follows: There was a seam in the plastic mould of both the new and the old LNB right on the centre line at the top. So I marked the round collar on the old plastic adaptor where the seam was before removing the old LNB. Figured this must get me pretty close on skew. When I put the new LNB in the old adaptor I aligned mark with the seam on the new LNB. For focus in and out the old LNB had a much larger moulding around the white front and the new LNB does not look like the one in the picture on desertcart right now as it can be slid up and down pretty much it's full length in the collar (at least the one I received was like that, a note inside said it was the new 2017 mk4 version which need to be extended before fitting, it comes set forward to fit in smaller packaging I guess). So I set the focus, in and out of the new LNB so it roughly matched where the collar would be in relation to the start of the white plastic on the old LNB. After fitting I went and turned back on my Skybox to check the signal strength and to my surprise having had to mess about a bit with the installation it was better than I have ever had without any realignment. Happy days job done in about 1 hour. Note, having done a bit if reading up as I was having problems with my reception I used Silicon Grease on the connections as well. Clearly the LNB was the main issue, but with the silicon grease on, any luck I'll be good for another 12/13 years.

**Q: I want to use this with 1 x Sky Q box plus 1 x twin tuner FreeSat box or 2 x twin tuner FreeSat boxes. Will this work?**
A: Hi ! It won't work on SKY Q box. Only works for Freesat box 1 and 2 tuners. For Sky Q box you need a Hybrid LNB

**Q: I want to use this with a 4K freesat recorder box to record up to 4 programmes will this work?**
A: Hello , The LNB will work but you will only bee able to record two channels at once.... If you buy a Sky Q LNB then in the installation of the Freesat Box it will ask you if you are connecting it to a Wideband LNB select this option and then you can record 4 channels at the same time...Hope this makes sense...let me know if not...Thanks Neil.

**Q: Does this work with sky+hd? i have sky q dish and want to replace sky q lnb with standard lnb which will work with sky+hd**
A: Yes, oh yes. I have a Smart (satellite) WiFi tv which I record on, whilst I watch Sky FreeSat on one of 3 Sky+HD boxes. In all 4 satellite cables to the narrowband lnb you are considering which works fine on the Sky Q dish. You'll need to slide the bracket down a couple of thin bladed knives to get it to fit - It is extremely tight. The positioning lugs are too big to fit in the original 2 bracket recesses but don't worry, just position the lugs over the recesses and it won't move a millimetre. Be careful not to move the dish whilst juggling with the bracket and do push the plastic peg in the positioning hole first so it stays in the correct position whilst you force it on. Then you'll need to keep pairing your Sky cards to the box until it gives up (or you do!) If you buy a Sky FreeSat card, note there is no such thing as ALL the cards will work, especially your old Q card if you retained it before returning the equipment. And, if you buy a second hand card you won't get its Pin Number. Enjoy !!!

Cancelled Sky TV as cost kept increasing. My LG smart had a satellite socket but wouldn't work with Sky Q LNB. Bought this one and just copied the skew angle from the Sky LNB. Perfect signal, 114 channels and ability to record. Well worth the £11 and 10 minutes to replace it. Still have 3 spare sockets for any other TVs where I can use a satellite dish.
