So, I needed to countersink what felt like a million nails on my deck refinish job. What I like about this punch is you can is the long end or short end as the punch. I liked the short end since my hand was off to the side and everything was closer to the nail and easier to strike. As other reviews have stated, this tool appears to have softer metal and with all the nails I did, it was pretty much no good after I finished (hundreds of nail heads). That said, it was a great tool for my needs.

Fantastic design. It’s a proper finish work tool. It’s not a pry bar or punch. Use it as intended and it’ll be the last nail set you’ll ever want to use.

Use it lengthwise to get to those hard-to-reach nails, but the best is when you use the short end so you can keep your fingers away so you don't risk the hammer hitting them! Such a good design.
