Stiffens a cardboard cake box base, enhances presentation. Stick cake to it so it doesn't move.
These cake boards fit cake boxes ASIN B01MXDVD1O, which means that I or the giftee can re-use the cake box. Also, I put a splodge of icing on the cake board to "glue" the cake to it, whereas the "glue" doesn't work as well when it's put straight onto the base of the cake box. The cake boards also stiffen the box base and enhance presentation.But the cake boards aren't an exact fit as they measure 6 inches x 6 inches = 15.3cm x 15.3cm, and ASIN B01MXDVD1O's base is 17cm x 17cm - it allows perhaps just a tiny tad too much room for manoeuvring. However, I'm pretty pleased with these cake boards and I've come back to this page today to order two more packs. I'll try to update the photo with one showing the cake board when I make more mini-bundt cakes, but meanwhile you can see that without a base the presentation looks rather plain and maybe even a bit unfinished.

Not as pictured
Awful quality cardboard with a cheap shiny finish that has been roughly cut to size. These are NOT cake boards they are squares of flimsy silver coated card. Unfortunately I don't have time to return them and source replacements so will have to make them work but I am hugely disappointed at paying so much for so little.

Wouldn't buy again
Ordered 6 inch boards and received 5 inch. Although not my error was expected to pay to return or receive 50% refund. Very flimsy and none of the edges were covered

Cheap and flimsy def not culprit standard
Cheap & tacky def not culprit standard! I returned the item (paid postage) on the 4th December 2020 & still no response from the seller. I know it’s only a few pounds but it’s the principle of sending out sub standard items! Definitely would not buy again!

Sturdy cake boards!
Bought these last year for small Christmas cakes. This is a repeat order, so met all my expectations. Good value and sturdy enough to accommodate rich fruit cakes. Will repurchase. Arrived before the expected delivery date.
