An excellent product. Note: TomTom's "email" for support is through the chatbot
I bought this Satnav because I was visiting Australia.I have used the Satnav in Ireland and Australia. It is an excellent product. It is easy to use. The maps are accurate. It is easy to maintain the device up to date and to switch between the global-regions maps, i.e. easy to switch from W. Europe to Australia and visa versa.I found the route-planning software really useful.I bought the global maps software, however these expired a few weeks after I got it (so I had access to Western Europe maps only). It took me some time to figure out how to get in contact with TomTom support, to get the World Wide map capability restored. I could not find any TomTom telephone number to call or an email address and it seemed I was in an endless loop with the chatbot who could not help.I got access to TomTom support through the chatbot. I asked the chatbot for TomTom support email. The chatbot did not provide me with an email address but it provided me with a means of communicating with somebody in TomTom support. My "email" was done in the normal Chabot dialogue window. This process was confusing and frustrating. I sent an image of the box and briefly explained my problem. My account / satnav was fixed / updated immediately. This solution was available all the time to me, but it was not clear to me.It's an excellent product and I would have no hesitation in recommending it and buying it again.

Much better than the new GO Discover range
I really appreciate how good this GO 620 is compared with the awful Go Discover I purchased a few days ago and subsequently returned straight away due to problems and overall disappointment in the map quality, not to mention the inflated price.Anyway, back to the 620. As with other models of the same TomTom generation, this has a lovely clear map that can be customised by choosing one of the colour schemes available (I particularly like "Party Pink" because the planned route using that colour forms a nice contrast with the background colours of the map). Other real plus points over the GO Discover are speed cameras for life [of the product] and hands-free calling from a paired mobile phone (not having that feature was the final nail in the coffin for the GO Discover in my case). Also, compared with Garmin sat navs (which I have also owned in the past), the spoken directions are much more precise, as they also include the road numbers (if applicable) as well as road names. That feature alone is very useful on complex roundabout junctions (no point in being told to take the 3rd exit down "High Street" if the road lane markings and signs only have road numbers and destinations, as I found to my cost before moving to TomTom devices. I've only knocked off a star because in common with other sat navs, the TomTom devices cannot be instructed to avoid those nasty single-track country lanes and despite forums users moaning about it for many years, TomTom has not addressed the issue as far as I am aware.

Lifetime Speed Camera and Android 11+ Bugs Have Been Remedied By TomTom
I bought the Go 620 in July 2023, my 3rd TomTom having bought a 910 way back in July 2006 and a 6100 in August 2016.Some reviews on Amazon have reported problems but these have now been corrected by TomTom. Once I got past their horrible bot the service by email was excellent1) Speed Camera Updates are supposed to be for lifetime but mine expired after 3 months. TomTom reported back by email "There seems to be a system glitch and the speed cameras were displaying as expired. I have now activated the Lifetime Speed Cameras on your device."I used the Settings icon on the device as in the 1st attached photo and it reinstalled no problem. Checked the System icon and it shows as activated as in the 2nd attached photo.2) Some users reported that the Go 620 would not work on smartphones later than Android 10. Mine is a Galaxy S9 on Android 10 so was not relevant for me but I queried this. TomTom reported back by email "We had just released an app update for the MyDrive app for Android. This has improved some bugs that were pending since 2021. And yes, this app is compatible with Android 11,12, 13 and 14. So you can definitely download the app on your new phone"Hope that helps.

Lifetime Traffic updates expired after a month!
***updated***I purchased this to replace my old TomTom that had outdated maps. The reason why I went for this model is that it states it has lifetime maps, lifetime cameras, and lifetime traffic included! I used it to go away on holiday a few days after I bought it and it was ok… the traffic updates etc were pretty good! The problem came a couple of weeks later when I needed to travel 60 miles away… it came on and it stated that my traffic updates had expired? I tried sort it out but it just kept saying I needed to purchase a subscription! As I needed to be somewhere I decided to try and sort it later. When I got within a mile of my destination the TomTom kept trying take me down a dead end due to roadworks that had completely dug the road up. I had no way of diverting it as it wouldn’t update and every road I turned down was a dead end and I had never been to that area. It took me 30 mins to try and figure out how to get to my destination as my TomTom was useless! When I got back home to sort the traffic updates out but trying get tech support for this issue has so far been useless! Ive tried contact Amazon support, TomTom support via the app, TomTom support via their Facebook page and TomTom support via their website but it’s all automated “bots” that don’t seem to understand my problem!Update:I received a response from the Facebook message the following day and the above Traffic update is now resolved. I’ve yet to use it but it’s showing up in the settings as updated. So if you need any support regarding your TomTom then I would advise to message them via the TomTom Facebook page!
