The space she wanted them to be located in her closet was tight and there was no way to match the ends up with the available studs. I cut a wooden base for each out of a 1x4, mounted that to the wall across two studs and then mounted the bar to that. With this configuration I felt like I could just about do pull ups on them. Very sturdy and she was quite happy with the end result both from a functionality and a looks standpoint. Good product!
