Why
This wonderful little oven is quite outstanding. Delivery was very quick, and setting it up was a doddle!! After successfully cooking a pizza for starters in 2/3 of the recommended time I thought I would try a joint of beef!! After warning the family that Sunday lunch may not be as good as usual ( new oven ) and checking that my roasting tin and lid would fit inside I was ready to go.........The dials are very easy to work out and I was very impressed to find that the timer knob has an 'on' position that means you don't have to keep re-setting the time as it just stays on! Usually, I put the meat in the oven about 9.30am, but I decided to leave it until 10.30 am. It was absolutely beautiful, done to a turn and I have saved money at the same time!! It looks good, fits neatly into a corner on my work-top and bakes and roasts just as my big double oven does but at a fraction of the cost. I would definitely recommend to anyone!!

Better than my main fan oven!
Best thing I’ve ever bought, used this every day since. Heats up really quick, cooks food evenly. It ticks when you have the timer on (not ‘stay on’ function) which probably isn’t a bad thing since there is no light inside the oven you could easily forget it’s on. It’s not massively heavy (it’s much lighter than my smaller microwave) and could be easily pulled off the countertop by a child also the sides and top get hot but it goes without saying to keep children away. The heated element will burn oven gloves (as I found out) if touched so be carful when removing the baking trays. I’d highly recommended to anyone!

Great little oven
I purchased this oven about 18 months ago when i fell pregnant because i couldn't stand the smell of cooking in the house (thanks to morning sickness that lasted my entire pregnancy). It has lived in the garage it's entire life and for my entire pregnancy was our sole cooker. It has done us proud, cooks everything well and is still going strong. One of the knobs didn't work properly when we first purchased it but the company were very quick to replace it. OK, It is a cheep cooker, it does get a bit hot on the outside, and probably cooks a bit on the high side, but for the price it really is fabulous!

Invaluable!
I bought this item to use in my tiny temporary kitchen while the real one was being gutted and refitted. It has been absolutely brilliant! There are only two of us, and in conjunction with my microwave this was ideal. I managed to cook roast dinners, toast item, warm plates, stew casseroles, keep meals warm, grill chops/sausages/bacon etc. I would never have coped without it! It took up so little space and was easy to clean too. I am hanging onto it now as an emergency oven should mine break down and possibly to lend to my family members to take on their holidays too. If you need a mini oven, this one is an excellent price and it wont disappoint.

Mini oven
I have only used this oven once since it arrived yesterday. It is my first ever mini oven and grill and I have bought it as I only cook for myself and the wife now. We are in our fifties and can't afford to heat a big electric top oven up every evening. It is a nice looking oven in silver finish, with a PULL DOWN glass door and not a left hand hinged door as described by a previous reviewer. The mechanical timer 'ticks', the metal casing, glass door and metal door handle all get extremely hot and I can see a few hands and arms being burnt through normal usage if not careful, especially if the user is aged or infirm. I warmed two dinner plates up on top of the oven whilst my fish were inside cooking. Oven heats up very quickly and cooks evenly (so far). I say that, because one of my two heater elements at the bottom is not glowing red hot all along its length but only on the left side of the bar. Despite that, the oven gets very hot and because I am not able to check to see if it is getting up to 230c, I just have to assume it is.It is a fanned oven anyway. It cooked two rainbow trout with lemon slices in, in about 20 minutes on full power using the bottom two elements only. Incidentally, the four heater elements (2 at top and 2 at bottom) are exposed and not covered.Made in China written on the box but shipped from Andrew James in Durham (Northeast england). When you phone them they are very helpful but when I phoned to mention about my heater element not getting hot all along its length, I was asked to hold while the call was passed to customer services and I had a sneaky feeling that it was the same person. Comes with a twelve month guarantee but you have the hassle and expense of getting a courier to collect it from your home address. I'll see how it goes and if I get a year out of it and have to chuck it, I won't mind. I'll probably buy my next mini oven from a high street store and not mail order, now that I'm hooked on the idea of owning one as a back up to the main oven. Comes with a basic operating manual and no recipe book, the manual isn't that good a guide if you haven't cooked with a mini oven before. WARNING: best to stand this outside and run an extension lead to it to burn off the coating on the heater elements (as instructed). I did it in our kitchen and it filled two rooms with acrid smelling smoke and fumes, which I did not enjoy. We had to open all the doors and windows to vent the house afterwards. Got a feeling that this purchase is not going to turn out well in the long run and for just under £50 delivered, I could have done better by buying in a high street store such as Argos, John Lewis etc etc. 18/11/11.(Update) Cooked aunt bessie oven chips in it this evening using both top and bottom elements with fan and they tasted better than normal. Took about 20 minutes and came out a lovely even golden colour. I am starting to like this oven and my confidence in it is growing.27/11/11 (Update). Fan is noisy, casing and glass door get very hot and I've managed to burn my hand twice while removing the baking tray. Cooked two large jacket potatoes very nicely last night in under an hour using the setting which allows both upper and lower heating bars plus the fan, which actually I am tending to use all the time for everything. Proving to be a good back-up/support oven to the main one. Wouldn't want to be without it.

Great!
Only just started using. As it is only for two people it will not get over used. Better than our cookworks 9ltr, which itself comes in handy, this is better because it can be used just like a big oven i.e. ovenproof dishes and meals in foil can be cooked in it unlike our other. I also contacted AJ customer services and purchased an extra rack and baking tray. The oven comes with one of each. But there are three shelves so I have two wire trays and a baking tray in use and a spare baking tray. Baking Tray is £7.99 and Wire Rack is £5.99 with free p&p. There is a phone number in the operational guide for AJ customer service in Durham. So far so good.

Pizza passt, Baguettes passen.
