Good fun for kids or adults
Kindly given to me to review I wasn't really sure what to expect from this little USB microscope. What I got was a whole load of geeking out as being able to see things close up! In the box you get the microscope, a small stand, various adapters and a user guide. The stand holds the microscope in place and makes it much easy to see items clearly, you can see in the video when I held the microscope the slightest movement was massively magnified. The microscope has LED lights around the camera and the brightness can be adjusted via an inline control. You change the focus by twisting the end cap and in a brilliant bit of design the USB plug can be used with both PC and mobiles. You get the same sort of functionality on both PC and mobile: a real time view and the ability to take photos and videos. I'm going to experiment further with the photo option as it should allow for some really interesting shots you can't get with a mobile. Really cool bit of kit, as a kid I'd have loved this...as an adult I still love it, I just don't have the school holidays off to play with it!

Good Microscope Poor App
Received this today to use with my job as a coffee machine engineer. I want to be able to look inside coffee machine boilers and see how much limescale build up has occurred and the condition of the element and tank etc. When you open the box there are two Q codes to scan, one takes you to the Google version of the app and the other the manufacturer. The manufacturer one opened up Pronett on my phone which is an app I use for when I visit Nando's to do work there !! Not sure what is going on there lol !! The other one installs, opens and then asks for permission to change a setting but it doesn't actually take you to the setting so you are then messing around trying to work out where the app is , I gave up in the end. Instead of saying Yes I just hit cancel and then had the option to tap on the microscope usb picture to open the camera app or another gadget made by the company, I tapped on the usb microscope picture and the camera app started to work , it shows a camera symbol, a video camera symbol as you can according to the instructions record what you are looking at , to do this I think you have to find the setting to allow permission and/or install VLC for android....I haven't tried this yet as I think it's going to take some searching and working out. If you tap the cog symbol which is the settings function you can change the resolution from 640x480 to 1280x720 , the little led's on the end of the microscope light up, there is a little wheel inline on the cord which allows you to dim and brighten the led's and at the top of the microscope there is a focus wheel which works quite well, I was looking at my keyboard and could see all kinds of dust and unmentionables very clearly !! I tried it in a glass of water with an object in the glass and it showed the object clearly too, also cooled down the end of the microscope which gets fairly warm. Be careful if you decide to check out your nostrils, mouth or inside your ears , it gets hot !! I haven't tried it yet for work but will be shortly but from my little play today and seeing how clear the images are I think I can safely say this works just fine and I will be keeping it. I've knocked off a star because the app is poor and the instructions are not the best. It does work ok though and for the money, not bad value really. Thanks for reading I hope this review helps !! PS...forgot to say, I connected this to my Motorola G5 android phone. EDIT: Ok, I figured out how to set permissions when you click on YES to allowing camera to access storage permissions on my Motorola G5 Android phone, go into SETTINGS, then APPS, scroll until you find HASFRAME CAMERA and open, scroll down to permissions and open, slide greyed out sliders on right to green and your phone will allow photo , video and microphone storage or just select the ones you want, exit and try the app , you shouldn't get the box pop up now asking to access your phone and you can now take photos of what you are looking at or videos. Shame the app doesn't set these on for you though when you say YES. Hope this helps,

Really impressed!
Brought this as a gift for my partner who messes with circuit boards. He loves this product! The added ease of it being a pen makes it easier to point at exactly what he is trying to see, plus with the stand you can set it up. The stand is made of metal. He also likes he can use this as an endoscope. The magnification is really good and taking photos is an added bonus!

Hardware good, included sofware infected with Malware. Download direct from Teslong
One of my many hobbies is collecting vintage fountain pens, in the past it would, on many occasions, have been very handy to be able to have a peek inside the cap or barrel to see how to remove a part or see how something fits. I recently dusted off an old endoscope after accidentally dropping a pen part down the sink plug hole (silly me) only to discover it wasn't water proof as advertised. I bought another one of those but I wasn't very impressed with it's picture quality (resolution 640x480 or less actually) so I thought I would get a better one. Well, this one is certainly much better, resolution is 1280x720 (and really is!) the picture quality is superb and you can focus it by turning the sleeve at the rear end from 'infinity' (a long way anyway) right down to about 5mm and still get sharp images. I don't intend using this for under water viewing, although the listing says 'Water proof' apparently IP67 is only really 'Rain, splashing and accidental submersion proof'. The LEDs and camera lens don't have a cover so I'm not sure how the water would be kept out because that's exactly where water got in and ruined my previous endoscope. If I did want to submerge it I think I would probably cover the end with some transparent film to be sure. Anyhow, for what I needed it fits the bill very well and produces very good, crisp, bright images. I would certainly recommend it. I just discovered one small fly in the ointment! One of the programs included on the CD (Teslong Camera.exe) is infected with Malware, in this case one called 'FileRepMalware' (detected by Avast anti-virus). I have other similar programs but from the literature it seems good and I wanted to at least try it. One saving grace is that I found the Teslong website where I could download the latest version of the program (ver 2.5.0) and that seems to be OK. I'm uncertain how bad this Malware is it may be quite new, but nobody in a Google search had good things to say about it. Anyone thinking of buying this Microscope, I recommend downloading the software direct from Teslong. I would give 5 stars but in view of the Malware problem I'm afraid 3 is the limit (It's okay).

As far as I can tell this is identical to the Teslong USB microscope (The Windows driver identifies the scope as Teslong). The Short Version: This scope is definitely worth the money, but it has a couple of flaws that could be deal breakers depending on how you want to use it. If what you want is a really powerful magnifying glass that lets you take pictures, you'll be happy. If you really want a 200x optical microscope for looking at various microorganisms, you'll be disappointed. The Long Version: The Bad: 1) My biggest complaint with this scope is the focus knob. The focus knob is part of the microscope body, which means that twisting the knob makes the camera lens wobble even if you have the microscope base tightened down as much as possible. This makes it extremely difficult to make fine focus adjustments, particularly at higher magnifications. 2) The lights around the camera lens make it nearly impossible to get good pictures of glossy material due to the reflections. I can't really blame the scope for this problem since it's due to physics--if the light source and the camera are very close together, you are going to have a lot of reflections and backscatter. The easiest solution is to use a separate light source, like a small flashlight. 3) Even though the scope is waterproof, it is almost useless underwater. The problem is that the camera lens is recessed into the barrel of the microscope by several millimeters. Thus, whenever you submerge the scope, you trap an air bubble against the lens that completely distorts your view. You can get rid of the bubble if you work at it, but it is difficult. 4) I question the claim of 200x magnification. This is not a replacement for a conventional 200x microscope (but it's still impressive). The Good: 1) Since this is basically just a webcam you can plug it into practically any phone, computer, or tablet and it works flawlessly. 2) The combination standard/micro USB plug is genius. 3) The picture quality is excellent 4) The integrated lights are handy for tight spaces (just don't expect beautiful pictures)
