Elite Gourmet ECT2428 2-Slice Toaster, 1.25" Slot, Stainless Steel

So, my old toaster was 20+ years old and as a 50 year old guy I use stuff until it dies. My old toaster started smoking a year ago and would set off the smoke alarm everytime I toasted my raisin bread in the morning with my coffee. I took it apart with my Grandson to teach him that you can repair stuff instead of just throwing everything out as most people do. We cleaned every part and put it back together and it lasted another year before dying completely. So, time to pop onto Amazon to find a new toaster. I didn't know they made smart toasters, and I didn't know I needed one. This one tells you when the toast, bagel, etc will be done depending on how dark you want it. I like my toast or bagel crunchy and dark. Some toasters don't do that well. This one did right off the bat. It even has a pop up rack to thaw out frozen bagels! How handy is that? No more waiting all day for them to thaw, just pop up the rack and put on the thaw setting. The toast comes out exactly like I like it. It had a factory smell the first 2 times but after that nothing but toast smell. The Elite Gourmet ECT 4400b is worth the money. Spend the extra $10 for this as it's worth the little extra. If I saw this at a friend's house and they said they paid $200 I'd believe it and I'd go buy one, it's that nice. Worth every penny and more. Thank you Amazon and Elite Gourmet!!

I bought this toaster to replace my old KitchenAid 4-slice toaster. I really wanted an all-black one, which is what I've had for many years. It seemed to disappear on my countertop. But, I couldn't find one that was reasonably priced, so I purchased this one. If it was all black, it would be perfect for me. But I do like this one. It toasts evenly and is very dependable. I like the fact that the toast doesn't jump out onto the counter when it pops up. There is a button for stopping the toasting if you want to end the time. I love the digital timer count down. I would buy this one in a minute. It is really dependable and easy to use. You can't go wrong with this one.

Let me start by saying that my family kills toasters pretty fast, we seem to go thru them all to often theses days. As to this long slice toaster. The controls are great, it provides a count down timer so you have an accurate way of determining when it will finish. The heating does have minor problems as it is not completely even, one side of toast is dark the other is light so it’s not even back to front. We can tolerate this and see if it changes at all. Otherwise we do like it.

Toasts long pieces of bread perfectly. Bengal setting is excellent by leaving uncut side chewy. The warming pop up rack on the top is useful and a great idea. The carriage sits very high up making it easy to remove toasted items. Defrost function works great. Count down time illuminated screen is also a great idea. My only negatives: Power cord is sort of short And a really bad design on the adjustment knob; the indicator line is black like the knob and almost impossible to see.. I had to paint the raised line with white acrylic paint so it is visible. August 2025 Been using this every day for several months and I can say it’s the best toaster I’ve ever had. The huge advantage is the read out timer and the even browning.

Randy K said it best....I read reviews....but I guess I read more of the good reviews and not enough of the not so good ones...as that is what we are experiencing... We kept trying different times/options to no avail...back to Amazon it goes and on to try to find a new toaster. Not sure how there are so many good reviews...unless it is only when you are using a larger piece of bread...but that is the main reason I bought this toaster! Sourdough bread... "With all the great reviews, I really wanted to like this product. It fit where we wanted to store it and it looks nice. Unfortunately, that is all I can say that is good about it. In testing it for the first time, I noticed that the toasting elements were not getting uniformly hot (see photos). You can see in the photos that many of the wire segments are not red, which means they are not getting hot enough to toast those areas of the bread. We thought we would try this out for a few days and could not find a setting that would toast the bread but without scorching it in spots. Sadly, we could not find such a setting. We have used it every day since we received it. While it is a nice looking product, it has failed in its primary job which is "toaster". I cannot tell whether this is a result of poor design, poor quality control or both. Either way we will keep looking for a different solution. I am returning this one for a refund."

I highly recommend this toaster, it will hold the longest slices, (which is why I bought it, homestyle slices) side by side or it will do four regular slices or four regular size slices that are thick bread, and it has a lot of adjustability the quality is very nice, very well made, it has a digital readout and there's an instruction guide for how much time and how dark to make the toast, worked perfectly the very first time. You can adjust the temperature on the fly once you set the bread in the toaster and you can cancel the toast at any time with the push of a button. Takes up a lot of counter space though just be aware.

Unfortunately, it never toasts the bread the same way twice. One side is always darker than the other. Sometimes it pops so hard. The toast comes flying out and lands on the counter. Don’t love it.

My 18yr old toaster finally died! This Elite Gourmet fit what I was looking for. I wanted two longer slots for my rye bread which is long & narrow. I also wanted slots wide enough for bagels. This is it. It toasts beautifully because it has a timer..love innovative items. This does everything I need it to do..without needing a masters to figure it out. It’s low-profile & sleek looking. Works perfectly sideways to the wall so takes up less prep space on my counter. I use it every day & I’ve had no issues at all with it. Good looking, good price..would recommend.

My wife complained about toasting on one side only. It clearly states in the user guide Bagel mode only toasts on one side. Read the instructions. I really like the wide slots. Perfect for Rye Bread. The timer is great if you want to sync everything with the eggs. I hate cold toast and eggs and this toaster rectifies this.

Don't risk buying this toaster. This is one of the most expensive and the first time I used it, it caused a fire in my kitchen. The auto pop up mechanism dis not work and caused a fire. Thank fully I had a fire extinguisher at hand and was able to get it in control. This was one of the most expensive toasters on Amazon and now I have no way to return it.

Great product, shape and size. The price was really good at just over $50!! Really like the warming rack where I can heat up my sweet buns that I don't want to stick inside because they might get stuck and drip sugar/jam, etc. into the toaster wires. But on the rack they warm up very well!

Voilà un grille-pain qui a belle apparence sur le comptoir. Rôtissage prévisible selon un tableau fourni qui montre les différents résultats (de chaque côté) selon la sorte de pain utilisé. Ne grille pas pareil de chaque côté, la différence est bien visible. J'ai tout de suite remarqué que mes rôties sont plus croustillantes avec ce grille-pain. J'aime beaucoup le compte à rebours du temps restant. Beaucoup plus pratique que je croyais. Le ressort qui éjecte la ou les rôties à la fin de la cuisson est sec et brut. Ce qui laisse une impression de moindre qualité. Les rôties sursautent à la fin mais ne sont pas éjectées hors de l'appareil. Serait beaucoup plus plaisant si la rôtie était éjectée plus doucement ou juste un peu plus amortie. Considérant le côté qualité/prix je dirais que c'est un bon achat.

Product seems to be of decent quality, good features and generally works well. However, it always burns the edge of my toast. I have tried everything, rotating this slices, changing the slot position and temperature etc. I prefer my toast slightly on the brown side and can't understand why it keeps burning the sides.
