Low key but good.
I read this on the kindle. I'd never read a graphic novel before. And honestly, I'd kind of gotten bored of waiting for Martin to bring out further books. So I didn't have any expectations when I read this. And I'm glad I bought it and the one before it. The artwork was well done. The stories were enjoyable without being over the top. More importantly, I enjoyed the kindle format for reading a graphic novel. The ability to double tap to read each pane individually brought the artwork/story forward and made it... more. I look forward to more stories of Dunk and Egg.

Read this on a tablet
If, like me, you do most of your reading on a Kindle but also have a colour tablet (mine is an ipad mini) it is really worth reading these graphic novels on the ipad. I did not try to read them on the Kindle because most of the joy in this is in the colours of the pictures. The Kindle reading app that I have on the ipad allows you to click on each element of the page which is then enlarged and 'flicking' passes you on to the next element. This is a much simpler tale than Game of Thrones etc but beautiful to scroll through.

Fantastic
Have read all of George RR Martin's books and have read the hedge knight in both word and cartoon form, which I enjoyed a lot. This follows on in the same manner as the first story of the Hedge Knight. The story line is easy to follow and the art work impressive.

A quick fix of GRRM.
The Sworn Sword is the sequel to The Hedge Knight graphic novella set in Westeros 100 years before the events of the Song of Ice and Fire books of GRRM. The story follows the main characters Ser Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg into the Reach, which plagued by a terrible drought, as they serve a beggared lord whose house is on the brink of ruin. For those of us who can’t get enough of this world it is a quick fix until Mr. Martin decides to bless us with more original content. The story is somewhat lacking, but at least with this medium you don’t have to sink days into it only to come out disappointed. The artwork is of high quality but the story was quite lacking at not even particularly exciting, nor were the characters very convincing. If you really cannot wait, try this.

good book
This is a great book. It is a pre TV series by a long time, so will not mention the characters in the series or books, but it will give you a flavour of the series. It is a stand alone story, but so far there are two books in this series. Graphic novels are like comics, but do not be put off they are far better than comics,

So disappointed - not what I wanted at all
Although this is called a graphic novel I didn't realise it was actually a comic. So disappointed - not what I wanted at all. And I might add if I did in fact wish to read it on my kindle - I'd need significantly better eyesight than I have - impossible. Please don't sell a G. Martin book with lovely illustrations in it (er.. graphics) and then call the ?? follow on book a graphic book when its a comic. How are customers supposed not to get confused & mega disappointed? If its a book with illustrations call it that but if there are 10 separate graphics to a page with speech bubbles please do call it a comic & I'll know not to waste my money. Thanks

Hooked
I brought The Sworn Sword & Hedge Knight as soon as I finished A Song of Ice and Fire because I just hooked and need to know more about the history of Westeros and the people in it. The art work is fantastic and finished both of them quite fast and it leaves you wanting to know more about Dunk & Egg's adventures together.
