I got this machine for Xmas 2024. I have 2 other hydroponic countertop machine, both w/more ports to grow more plants. This one is perfect for what I wanted. I was aggravated buying basil plants for $4/each that died 10 days later. With this system, I have 3 basil plants growing since January. Whenever I need some for a meal, I just snip off some leaves. Couldn't be easier. And, it's small, so it doesn't take up a lot of counter space. Perfect!! It has already paid for itself.

I live in a berm home, I have no windows in my kitchen. This allows me to have fresh herbs growing on my counter. Love it!

I'm using this to speed up my seed starting for the spring, and it seems to be working well so far. My plants have sprouted and will soon be ready for transplant. It's easy to use and decent for seed starting, but I don't think it's tall enough for growing and keeping plants in it long term (sounds like other reviewers are hitting the same issue). Might be okay if you have shorter plants or use it for seed starting, but at 12 plants at a time, it's pretty small for that. Overall a good intro to hydroponics for me!

I got some seeds sprouting but the lights stopped working after a few months which was a bummer. I have to have it by a window now. I’m not having super successful plants, unfortunately.

This 12-pod Hydroponic Growing System comes with everything you need to start growing, except for seeds. The growing system was easy to set-up, everything works, and the motor is quiet. I planted 4-basil, 6-lettuce, and 2-cilantro. The lettuce seeds sprouted within two days, 2 of the basil seed pods sprouted within 5 days, but I’m still waiting on the others to germinate.One of the problems I have with this Hydroponic Growing System is just that—the box and instructions say that it is a Hydroponic System. On the instruction sheet, the product claims that there is a warranty but no contact information is provided. In the fourth paragraph of the Warranty statement, it mentions exclusions from the warranty are due to using parts and accessories, or improper replacement parts, not manufactured by two companies listed. However, there are no websites or phone numbers listed, nor is there any information given on reordering additional seed pods or plant food, which would make the warranty null and void.Another problem I have with this hydroponic system is that the grow lights only raise 12”. I have never seen/grown a tomato or pepper plant that stays less than 12” tall and produces fruit/vegetables. The system is also quite small for 12-pods, which will not provide much growing room as my plants mature. I can keep the herbs cut back to size, and eat baby lettuce from this system, but only time will tell as to how successful the plants will grow.We love putting fresh basil on our homemade pizza, and I love making pesto. Hopefully my herbs will perform well in this kit. If not, I can see using this hydroponic system to sprout seeds for planting outside afterwards, which may be a good use for it.UPDATE: After using this hydroponic garden for a month and comparing it to another hydroponic garden that I am also reviewing, I have updated my Overall Rating on this system from 3-stars to 5-stars. This system is well-made, easy to set up, and easy to use. I also like the easy-access water reservoir and the one-piece LED light bar, which is easy to raise and lower as needed. My lettuce is doing great and so are my herbs.
